So I finally found a brand new GTI in stock and ready to pick up the first day I can get off work!!! Red, five door, with audio package, comfort package and bi-xenon lights. All for $34,700 drive away. Stoked!!! Don't have to put up with this BS "no idea what year your car is coming" BS from the other dealership!
Can't wait to pick up my sexy beast Monday, they're just doing final prep this weekend as it arrived out of the blue last week! Now to organise insurance before the pick up... what would everyone recommend for a 23 year old male whose first car is the GTI? I know it's probably gonna hurt.

Grats crumbs! Sigh.. wish I was clear in the head before I rushed to my local dealer for a 9+ month wait.
Ah I assumed it was somehow factory fitted because my dealer sounded relieved and laughed saying it makes it alot easier deciding to fit sensors when we settled our deal/contract. Yeah I got the 'Barloworld Protection Package' with the paint crystal glaze, fabric and carpet, vinyl protection, ICT tinting and front and rear sensors for $2400. Oh I see now it says Pre-Delivery options.. well the front sensors are 790 and both are 1210 according to the list they gave me.
But Mr Phillip sir! You are in ACT! I'm in Melbourne so what would be the costs and the trouble of getting it transported here be? Even before that..what would happen to my current contract and my deposit with my local dealer (Glen Waverly Barloworld VW) and would they be sour about servicing my car (if I cancel and buy from you)? I have many more questions! Most important one would be the price. I'm happy with my deal and the wait since it's actually good for me financially. But then I am obsessed and impatient! Either way you'll have no problem selling that luxury spec <3 love it

Let's see...12 month wait...$1K now...sound familiar?

I was just down at Camberwell VW getting a final trade-in valuation for my MINI, and they told me they have a new Dealer fitted bluetooth option. It's a Mobridge unit and they're selling it at an installed price of $595. Doesn't seem like such a bad price. Seems to sell in the US for around $450, so it's not as much of a gouge as with the other bluetooth they sell (which apparently has come down in price).
I had a quick look online and this would appear to be the unit on offer
CAN Bluetooth | mObridge
I've shot a note to Camberwell to check that I have the correct unit.
Interesting to note I was told that apparently the VW Bluetooth also offered has an annoying "feature" that you have to scroll thgrough the entire phone book to get a number. Apparently with this one when you keep the button on the sterring wheel depressed it jumps ahead (alphabetically I think).
What do you guys think of this?2011 Polo GTI - I have it, I Love It!!!!

Hey Frostee,
Wouldn't this unit be the basic unit? no steering wheel control, no mfd etc.??2011 POLO GTI 3dr, Candy White, Audio-Comfort-Xenon PacksMODS: H&R Sport Springs - Bilstein B12s - Whiteline Sway Bar - Milltek Cat Back Exhaust - Sparco Assetto Gara Wheels

PoG, how much to pay?
Well...some of you will say i told you so...and i will nod and agree with those people.
Ever since getting the TSI i have learnt its a fun drive...but not as fun as the GTI
So i was wondering what it may cost to get a pog 3 door, flash red, Bi-xenons with MDI with all the dealer fatty trimmings (dealer delivery etc) and NSW road taxes etc.
Many thanks.

OK.....well.....I told you sonot actually. I really can't say what dealers will charge you, especially with the supply and demand issue at the moment with the GTIs, but I would say it would be full retail price. Also depends on your negotiation skills as well. For the config. you want it could be as high as $35k drive away, that is just guesstimating

To give u an idea, I payed $35k for 5 door with normal candy white paint, Xenons, comfort and audio packs an orc. Now, some dealers are selling bog stock pogs for $34000 on road, supply and demand is a biatch
Onions was selling his red 5 door I think, not sure what options were on it though but it definitley didn't have Xenons.sigpic
