From memory, the best price on here was 30,990 drive away.

I paid 31K drive away for a 5 door GTI with Metallic silver paint

Yeah my 3 door GTI was 30990, has pearlescent (black) paint and audio pack. That said it was a demo car, they had it as a demo for about month and a half, of which one whole month (January) was flooding in Queensland. At delivery the car had less than 300 kms on the clock, so use this as a guide only.

Hi all,

I just placed an order on a 3 door candy white GTI with xenons, comfort pack and audio upgrade for $33,100 delivered to my door with a full tank of fuel. My local VW dealer quoted me $35,700 and discounted to 35k, but refused to negotiate below citing high demand, bla bla bla.

So I went to a car broker (Private Fleet) who negotiated a corporate fleet sale with VGA and got the better price. Turns out my GTI will be delivered by the same dealer, minus the salesman's commission

Good work Smacca, what is your ETA? Just be wary of brokers though, a few guys on here have had troubles with them running to the hills once the contract is signed, they won't push for details etc about your car like a dealership will...

On a happy note, nice choice of the white-xenon-comfort-audio setup, you will be the 4th so far with that combo we know of!

ETA when I made the order was Feb 2012 (which thanks to this forum, I was already expecting). But I just got an email from my broker saying the dealer had contacted them and updated the ETA to mid Oct 2011!

As for dodgy brokers, I know what you mean and I did my research. Private Fleet has a relationship with NRMA so I was happy with their reputation (and discounted fee for NRMA members ). I'm getting weekly updates from them, so I'm happy so far.

I wouldn't have chosen any other spec for the GTI. I wanted black or white to contrast the GTI red striping. And with some dark tint and black rims, white is just too perfect for the Polo. Dark colours blend in the black grill, lower air intake and rear diffuser which I think causes the Polo to lose some aggression. But that's just my opinion.

Can't help noticing everyone loves the white on here, does no-one like the silver??? it's not half bad imo.

Bit too bland for my liking, it lacks the more aggresive visual contrast that the white has. Demo I drove was silver, nice but like I said, too plain for me...

I've always liked silver, but my last car was silver so time for a change.

My previous car was a black Citroen C4 (looked great clean but hard to keep clean), so I've gone totally opposite to a white car. I tend to agree with Gav, white has that certain, je ne sais qua

Hi. I'm new here. I signed a contract today for a Polo TSI Comfortline manual, flash red, sports pack, panoramic sunroof, tinted front windows to match the sports pack rear tints, car mats and slim line plates - $25k driveaway. The sun roof means that delivery won't be until the end of the year but told the dealer to make delivery early next year so I'll get a 2012 plated car instead. I know that's a ridiculous wait time but I'm in no rush to get it.

I originally went to Camberwell VW and they refused to budge on the base model Polo TSI comfortline manual ($23,500 approx driveaway - can't remember exact price), so all the extras I got today at another dealer sounded like a great deal, so I signed up.
