Which part did they have to replace? I just got my rattles looked at today and they said it was just the AC pipes and moved them away from the chassis..

Took it to the Chatswood Classic Cars service centre in Artarmon today along with a print out of this thread. Within 2 hours they have verified the problem, confirmed it's the "known issue" mentioned in previous posts and have ordered the new part. ETA is 1-2 weeks and I'll have to book it in again, but no biggie if they're doing a genuine fix. They even washed and vacuumed the car while I was on my way to collect it
Are you talking about the know DSG Gear rattling when going over speed bumps and while it changes gears at low revs to which it makes a rattle sound while it finds the gear?

They don't have to replace anything, they just move the AC pipe.

End result it has 3 holes very close together - Bob Jane say cannot repair - too many holes close together - $240 and up to a 3 week (due to festive season holidays) wait for a new tyre they have to get from Melbourne. Not particularly happy at the moment.
The missus has got 2 punctures so far, the 2nd being in the sidewall and not repairable. This was about 3 weeks ago and beaurepairs claimed no stock of the 17" Conti's in the country. Has a temp 17" on there for now and will be replaced with a new one when they have stock. Covered by the tyre/rim insurance which I thought might have been a waste of time haha

She's mentioned something about the door seal on the drivers side having an issue but nfi what she's on about until I see it. Only thing I've noticed is the rear passenger door has a cracked seal around the window frame which I really need to book in to get fixed.

I was in a rush to pick it up so I didn't go into detail with them to find out if it's the aircon or fuel; they just said they're ordering a new pipe. Apparently it's the VW reccommended fix as new cars are being manufactured with a different pipe, so might be worth asking if you can get a replacement rather than just having them bend the pipes. I'll post a decent description of what they replace when I get it fixed.

FYI: The rattle I'm getting is the one people have mentioned when the car is warm and you're accelerating from a still start or driving up a hill. It's behind the drivers side of the dash and is getting louder as the weeks go on No issues with changing gear.

Is it a rattle or a squeak?

I test drove the polo gti 3 dr, and the door was rattling when you go over bumps.

I get like a rattle sounds like the DSG is finding the right gear for the low speed im doing on the speed hump, no idea.

77tsi auto developed a nasty rattle at on idle coming from the driver side dash/firewall area. I had a look and it was clear that it was the fuel lines vibrating in the chassis rail. Took it to the service centre and they replaced the fuel lines (at least they said they did). I know someone else mentioned the same problem in this thread and they just had the lines wrapped to stop the rattling. Either way since then so far so good.

Picked up my new polo 77TSI Manual on Saturday. On Sunday i was on the freeway for the first time putting the car into 6th and...nothing 6th gear wouldn't engage! so i just took it back to the service center about 2 hours ago, they took it for a drive and they were able to engage 6th a few times but it was slipping out the rest of the time..... not happy. day 2 of a NEW CAR and the gear box of all things ain't working.

I've been given a replacement car and i should have it back today, but i'm not happy any thoughts on what i should say to the dealer?

I wouldn't describe the rattle as serious but the missus car at very slow speed/coasting has a slight rattle you hear when the windows are open. Sorta like the sound a twin plate clutch makes? I figured it was the DSG engaging/disengaging.

Thanks for fixing it? Not like they broke it or knew about it?
