Which part did they have to replace? I just got my rattles looked at today and they said it was just the AC pipes and moved them away from the chassis..

Took it to the Chatswood Classic Cars service centre in Artarmon today along with a print out of this thread. Within 2 hours they have verified the problem, confirmed it's the "known issue" mentioned in previous posts and have ordered the new part. ETA is 1-2 weeks and I'll have to book it in again, but no biggie if they're doing a genuine fix. They even washed and vacuumed the car while I was on my way to collect it

Not particularly happy at the moment.
She's mentioned something about the door seal on the drivers side having an issue but nfi what she's on about until I see it. Only thing I've noticed is the rear passenger door has a cracked seal around the window frame which I really need to book in to get fixed.

I was in a rush to pick it up so I didn't go into detail with them to find out if it's the aircon or fuel; they just said they're ordering a new pipe. Apparently it's the VW reccommended fix as new cars are being manufactured with a different pipe, so might be worth asking if you can get a replacement rather than just having them bend the pipes. I'll post a decent description of what they replace when I get it fixed.
FYI: The rattle I'm getting is the one people have mentioned when the car is warm and you're accelerating from a still start or driving up a hill. It's behind the drivers side of the dash and is getting louder as the weeks go onNo issues with changing gear.

77tsi auto developed a nasty rattle at on idle coming from the driver side dash/firewall area. I had a look and it was clear that it was the fuel lines vibrating in the chassis rail. Took it to the service centre and they replaced the fuel lines (at least they said they did). I know someone else mentioned the same problem in this thread and they just had the lines wrapped to stop the rattling. Either way since then so far so good.

Picked up my new polo 77TSI Manual on Saturday. On Sunday i was on the freeway for the first time putting the car into 6th and...nothing 6th gear wouldn't engage! so i just took it back to the service center about 2 hours ago, they took it for a drive and they were able to engage 6th a few times but it was slipping out the rest of the time..... not happy. day 2 of a NEW CAR and the gear box of all things ain't working.
