New Polo - I've got one!

It came out of the dealer / detailers just yesterday but already had its first wash this morning since I was lucky enough to pick up a new car on a rain day. And I had a lot of brake dust from my first drive / brake bedding. Pretty darn good brakes, not a lot of fade after 10 consecutive 100 - 20kmh heavy brake stops. ABS works, did one with a wheel off the edge of the road . I've added some pics to the appreciation thread. The one above wasnt posed, that was just picking up a case of Jimmy Squire to celebrate. Yes I have been parking it a metre away from EVERY kerb. Paranoia.

No, all the plastic is genuine VW accessory. You can order it through any dealer. Be prepared for some sticker shock. You can buy each piece separately, they get delivered unpainted. I dont have a breakdown of each component and how much was paint/labour. The 5 pieces painted and fitted owe me $3448 and I think that is a decent discount.

i have just the rear spoiler and it cost 755 fitted and painted. was the first one the dealer had ever fitted and they took photos because they thought it looked so much better and it does.

Southern Classic were pretty chuffed with how mine looks too. When I went in mid week to get my mats the salesman came out to have another look. I couldnt go past another opportunity to tell them off about the price. They would sell 10 times as many if they halved the price.

Picked up my MY12.5 GTI just over a week ago.



When I got it home I put a folding roof pod on the roof racks, three (yes three) child seats on the back seat and removed the parcel tray.

Then in the wee hours of the next morning loaded the wife, three kids, two dogs and luggage. We hit the road and headed up to Coffs for a week away.

A week and a bit later the car has over 1,500 kms on it that's the run-in out of the way.

Luggage in roof pod, dogs in boot. The back seat is wider than a 2008 Civic I had years ago so three child seats fit fine. The Civic was 3 cm too narrow.

Hey i've just bought one too, yet to be delivered

I have a few questions and instead of starting a new thread, i thought i'd ask here..

1) The denver wheels on the Polo GTI - are they chrome or matt silver look? I've seen both types on the Polo and the in the VW Polo brochure they are the chrome ones. Can anyone confirm?
2) The front spoiler foglight surround - is that black or grey?
3) Do the Polo GTI's come with any kind of window tint / privacy glass?

1) If it's brand new it will MY13 spec and will have the Detroit wheels so don't worry about the Denver wheels. the dtroit are the wheels that are painted black and then machined to give the raw metal finish on the face of the wheel. Google VW Detroit Wheels.
