Thanks m8. Not had much time to be driving so far, so only a few hundred kms. But, yes i am very much enjoying it. The engine is willing and the handling even on Sydneys awful roads is way better than my Euro and my Alfa, and whilst of course it can be improved its a good starting point. There are some niggles. The silly deadlock message, the touch screen, the lights needing to be switched from off to on via sidelights, even tho in off they are on already (if you have the normal lights) is just silly. Ok that's a ADR 'fix' done badly, but its annoying and these lights should just be auto lights really. All that said tho, its a superb fun car and a great package and im enjoying it, what else could you buy for this money that is this much fun and nicely made? Motor says it all really, BFYB two years in a row, and it feels like it!
Hi All! yep got the car yest morn, and I love it! really fun to drive and very zippy in the city, which is just what we needed as we are stuck in Sydney most of the time. Will sort out a pic when I get 5 mins, got to get back out and do some more driving! haha!
Great to hear Jon. Pic looks great....amazing how different the colour looks in the shade compared to the sun....I definitely prefer the sun blue, very nice.
Enjoy (especially before you go away).

Theres a reason VW always used Shadow Blue when displaying the Polo GTI at shows
Thats funny cos the last motor show I went to last year had it in ‘candy white'?
LOL, hope this isn't gonna turn into a thread like Golf R v GTI....(re candy white v shadow blue) that turned feral and went on and on and on for 200+ pages.
I know Gavs wouldn't allow that to happen over here though....IMO VW dont give us much to choose from in the colour range.
All ribbing aside, I do like the shadow blue too
VW dont offer much in the way of colours across the entire range. There's 6 shades of silver grey, a few blue greys, couple of brown greys, black white and primary colours. They all wear beige suits in the colour factory I'm sure.
After two and a half years of test driving, getting approval by the missus, getting screwed over by the lease company, test driving, getting the ****s with dealers and taking my bat ball home, test driving, getting in principal approval from missus, in principal approval from the lease company... I submitted my dealer quote to leaseplan today! Candy white 77tsi, sports pack, comfort pack, hideously expensive body kit (total waste of money but I like it and dont like any of the aftermarket ones). No idea what the current wait is but for tax reasons I cant take delivery until 15th November anyway. Going to be a long 3 months.
I didnt tell the wife about the body kit. She will go nuts. But by then it will be too late and already parked in the garage. She will get over it just as she got over my $3000 dogs
Nice one readerr0r we all know which is the hero colour
In all seriousness, enjoy it JonW and so long as you love the colour and the car, that's all that matters
Ps, I actually like the colour, just not on a GTI, doesn't really fit right to me. It's like making an acid yellow Ferrari
Ok, other than their Magazine shoot, supposed R test mule and a few early trade shows, the Shadow Blue camp is pretty spartan. Just let me call Candy White "Clone White" and I'll let you call Shadow Blue "Grandpa Blue"
Back in the UK we always called white 'Appliance white' as it looked like fridge/freezers, and as yet Ive never bought a white car apart from a Triumph Spitfire which was Old English White, and therefore actually cream coloured LOL.
Anyway sod the colour you buy, I reckon the plan is that I wont diss yours if you dont diss mine, and that gives us all more time to drive em!
