I've just picked up my MY12.5 TSI DSG model today (Pepper Grey) and I've gotta say that I'm enjoying it more than I thought that I would in terms of ride quality and ease of use. I'm really enjoying the interior quality too.

Anyway I thought I'd share my excitement with you!

Is it normal for the car not to take off straight away when using a fair amount of throttle?

I picked up my white 77TSI yesterday with sports and comfort packs, as well as leather and sunroof. I've already stuck an rcd510 into as well.

Im not sure if this is a fault, but the main headlights are on even when the light switch is turned to '0' - this is in addition to the DRLs. The only way to get the headlights to turn off is to switch the lights to parkers (or have the ignition turned off).

Yeah my understanding is that because the DRLs have to be a certain brightness VW could only achieve it on the TSIs by running the main bulbs during the day. My dealer said that they can turn it off for me if I would like - similarly someone with a VCDS could do it too.

Put down a deposit on a Candy white 5dr GTI this week. I was planning to get the 77TSI with sports pack but made the mistake (or correct decision) of taking the gti for a test drive first. I was hooked straight away. Just waiting to submit the financing stuff.

I have been having some doubts after reading the problems register thread and gave me the impression that a majority is not happy with their GTI. But after reading this thread, I'm beginning to think otherwise. I'm trying to figure out the percentage of happy vs unhappy.

I think you will find the overwhelming majority of owners are happy because out of the 600-700 gtis on th eroad, we only have about 35 owners on here and like most forums, people will generally sign up for 2 reasons: 1) information about what they are investigating and 2) to complain about what they have bought

Even those with lots of issues (like MjKoolio) seem to be still happy with the cars.

I put in my application today. Should get approval tomorrow. The dealer has my car in stock. It won't be long now...

Anything i should especially look out for on the delivery (saw mention of looking for rust under the car - anything else?)

Check the oil - seems from reading the oil thread a lot of cars aren't full of oil when they leave the dealership! Make sure you get the radio code as well... thats my only advice

anyone know if the new polo MY13 GTI has standard 17" Detroit Wheels as a standard option? i made a deposit on one of these only for them to tell me afterwards that it comes with the denver wheels, however i am certain they are incorrect and misguided me and i am telling them i want the detroit wheels otherwise i am not moving forward on the car....
