    Hi All,

Just joined the forum after agreeing to buy a MY10.5 R36, I pick it up later in the week.

    2010 Volkswagen Passat R36 Type 3C Auto 4MOTION MY10.5

Although it has slightly higher than average km's its seems to have been very well kept and it absolutely blew away the other cars I was looking at bang for buck wise. I am a bit of a BMW fan and was keen on a 335i wagon but after test driving both back to back the R36 had me.

I'm not too sure if I want to do much in the way of mods, hopefully it will retain its value fairly well being the last model made and in the desirable colour combo as is. That said I'm happy to take any tips for must do's! One thing that would be handy is a set of roof racks as I snow ski. Also trying to justify the $700 to put some euro plates on it.

I'm based in Melbournes North West suburbs if anyone car recommend a good independent specialist out this way.

    Cheers

    V

I'm not opposed to them but as its a daily and my wife will also be driving it not looking to go nuts. Any one thing you couldn't live without?

Probably the drl s to be honest. They should have been there from factory to match the tails.
Though since I installed the Dynaudio amp last night that could well be no.1 soon...

Oh and the colour cluster. Makes the car feel more modern.

Welcome to the R36 club mate. Plenty of people have done mods on the forum so have a search around. As for relatively cheap mods, do a search on threads started by me. I have done plenty but i havent spent a huge amount doing them. With regards to roof racks, i am pretty certain that i am going to sell mine as i have never used them and i now have a territory that has roof racks so i wont need them. They are the aero versions and look great but if you are interested, let me know. Happy hunting.

                  That's because Snerlo's a cheapskate

It's already a brilliant car so if you do nothing other than drive it you'll enjoy it.

If there is anything that you feel is lacking there is plenty of information and helpful forum members to point you in the right direction.

Nice find Vee. I remember seeing this car on Carsales when I was looking for my R36 last year. Mine had to be a late model Biscay Blue wagon with a sunroof. It has a few extras as well, which I'm happy about.

I'm not really into modding cars - I did install an RVC and am tempted by Dynaudio though.

These cars aren't cheap to run and I've had to sort out a few things since I bought it - so my money has been spent on maintenance.

Congrats on the new purchase Vee, that's my old car !! (I am the original owner, I sold it around 18 months ago)

Quick question, does it still have the Arqray exhaust I fitted on it, I loved the sound of it first thing in the morning on start up
also I did have euro plates fitted but transferred them to my new car so the holes will be still in the front plastic from memory

It was a great car and never gave me any problems

Wow! Small world. I haven't picked it up yet but It sounded pretty good when I drove it so I would say yes. Has a pod filter as well and some flappy paddle extenders. Did you do those as well or any other mods? Do you remember exactly what options it has?

I noticed the euro plate screw holes. Debating if it's worth the $700!

Have a look under the back when you pick it up, I'm pretty sure there are Arqray badges on the mufflers, I used too have them spotless and shiny
as for mods, the paddles etc, must have been done by the current owner, Exhaust was the only mod I made

                              enjoy your new toy
