Given that the EA189 engines are not going to be available for sale, the B8's 140TDI engine variant is also affected?
One engine only for the B8... there'd be more cause then for VWAu to bring other engines over?
I believe the B8 Passat also use the EA189 motor so likely this will get pulled before launch. I can imagine there are going to be quite a few 2015 build 140TDI's available for sale at a reasonable discount once the "fix" has been applied.
Yes, we can only hope a 206KW TSI is released around same time as Alltracks intro mid 2016. I really do hope the B8's look good in the flesh all nicely kitted & dressed in R-line gear etc otherwise......................................... ............................
Only one Highline Model listed on the Specification Summary that I got my hands on, & the Alltrack is due in 6 to 10 months, I wouldn't be surprised if they launch the 206kw TSI in Highline spec around the same time. Then they have 5 model variants.
Can only hope

Really? Where did you read this?
Everything I've read refers to the B7 Passat being affected. I would think that all B8 Passats would be Euro 6 compliant and have the EA288 engine fitted. It makes no sense why they would introduce a new model with the old Euro 5 engine?
