Lost key FOB

richdave, looking at the invoice for my replacement R36 key the numbers are as follows, Transmitte V3C0959752BAZQG and Key V3C0837216EINB. Hope that helps, cheers pj

The number is actually 3C0 959 752 BA ZQG - 3 button 434MHZ in satin black/chrome matt silk

(ZQG is satin black/chrome matt silk and TKE is satin black/high chrome)

There is also a 315MHZ unit listed but it doesn't appear to be available in Australia.

UK price for the remote is 78 pounds ex VAT so should be around AUD$200.

Emergency key is 3C0 837 216 E INB which is $28 pounds ex so around AUD$70.

Any ideas on what the 753 is?

I wonder if I give my mate in UK my VIN wether or not he could order a FOB for me and post it out???

Sorry, but I hope not. 'Cause if he can, that would mean I could also just look at your VIN (presumably yours is like mine - on public display at the bottom of the windscreen), contact my less scrupulous mate in the UK, and get him to order a key that will open YOUR car.

I can't see 753 listed for the Passat, I looked in both 2008 and 2009 model years and all the listed remotes were the 752 ones.

752 BB for example is 4 buttons 315 MHz, 752 AH is 3 buttons 315 MHz.

But you may be able to order the fob from the UK but they won't do the emergency key (maybe as a blank) for the reason that gregozedobe mentioned but this could be ordered in Australia.

He'll need your VIN number to order as they'll make sure you get the correct type of RFID chip to suit your car and make sure the key is correct.

So you have 4 buttons (the red one on the side)? That also means it's 315MHz.

I'd get them to confirm that remote and I'd be tempted to try another dealer and let them quote to see if they come back with the same remote before ordering.

No I have the usual 3 button remote. I have supplied my VIN and expect an accurate quote later today.

I will be asking at least a couple of dealers before I purchase. May even swap service location if I get looked after!

I asked about getting a third key to store offsite (in case the house burns down, etc), my dealer quoted me around the $495 mark coded and ready to go. Not sure if it had the insert though..

FYI - the part number and frequency of the key FOB is printed on the inside of the FOB case. Refer the battery Change thread

You may want to check/record this info just in case you find yourself chasing another one that wont cost you an arm and a leg on that auction site...

I had a few hits when I googled it - it's 3C0 959 752 - lose the leading 0. It's the key assembly without the plastic accessories key.
