Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Can MY18 owners confirm if there is a seal or no seal?

MY18 here - no seal. Something sticking out like that would have annoyed me to no end.My car: MY18 Arteon

Hey Guys,
Picked up my Manganese Grey Arteon last night with S&S etc.. has anyone else had issues with activating the wireless charging in the front compartment in front of the shifter..?
my S9+ wont fit in the compartment and neither would my partners IPhone X.. is this a design flaw?
Thanks,

I'm pretty sure the Arteon doesn't have wireless charging. This is one thing I tossed up between when I was looking at the MY17 Superb vs the MY18 Arteon. The MY17 Skoda did have wireless charging, but it was then removed from the MY18 model.
Overseas the Arteon has wireless charging, but it wasn't delivered in Australia (at least in the MY18 model). I also just looked up the current Arteon spec sheet, and it makes no mention of wireless charging. If it did have it - you would think it would be a feature they promote.
If you look closely at the logo on that rubber mat, you'll probably see that it's just a phone logo, and not a "Qi" logo for wireless charging. My car: MY18 Arteon

I think it was removed from the MY18 Skoda Superb due to a regulatory requirement and the wireless charging pad also boosted mobile signal. This is why it was in the MY17 model, and removed in the MY18 models, then subsequently removed from the MY17 models on the next dealership visit.
*EDIT* - just found it.

"Delivery stop for vehicles fitted with wireless smartphone charger, advanced telephone connection and business mobile phone interface
Retailers are to stop delivery of all new vehicles containing certain optional phone preparations to customers with immediate effect.
These phone preparation options normally include a component which amplifies mobile phone signals. Regrettably, due to technical and regulatory constraints, we are unable to provide this function at this moment in time.
All other functions of these options, such as wireless charging and dual phone Bluetooth connection will continue to be fully operational without any restrictions."
And it was never done in Australia because it's against the ACMA rules.
Mobile phone repeaters: information for consumers | ACMA
Can I operate a mobile phone repeater?
You can only operate a mobile phone repeater if you have been authorised by a carrier.
A person must not operate or possess (for the purpose of operation) a radiocommunications device, unless that person is authorised under either a spectrum, apparatus or class licence.
A mobile phone repeater operates within apparatus or spectrum licensed radiofrequency bands-licensed to mobile phone carriers. As such, to operate this device, you will require carrier permission under a third party arrangement.
It is illegal to operate a repeater without carrier permission because this device has the capacity to cause substantial interference to the mobile network. This can occur because the device is not coordinated with other radiocommunications infrastructure in the mobile network.
It is an offence under the Radiocommunications Act 1992 (the Act) to operate an unlicensed radiocommunications device, or possess this device for the purpose of operation. A person found guilty of this offence may be imprisoned for two years for each offence. A body corporate may receive a penalty of over $300,000 (1,500 penalty units) per offence (sections 46 and 47 of the Act). Other penalties may apply, such as the interference offence provisions at Part 4.2 of the Act.My car: MY18 Arteon

So this isn't actually in the car any more? Even though it's supposed to be?----------------------

It was an option in overseas markets when you upgraded the sound system to the Discover Pro, but has since been deleted as an option due to the regulatory requirements.
It was because it not only was a wireless charger, but it boosted mobile signal. And in Australia, you're not allowed to boost mobile signal.
Why they don't just put a normal (non-boosting) Qi charger there I don't know. That said, it's not like any phone after 2009 would fit anyway.
However, when we were looking at the Superb and we test drove the MY17 model - my Galaxy S7 Edge did fit very comfortably in the cubby where the wireless charger was. But it's a totally different design/layout on the Arteon. My car: MY18 Arteon

I was just wondering - how often does everyone use their adaptive high beam? I've used it a few times, but I'm still a bit uneasy about how quick/responsive it is and I'm conscious about blinding on-coming drivers. My car: MY18 Arteon

I know the Arteon uses a different headlight system, but the camera and lighting brains r essentially the same between VW and Skoda.
I've got some vids here showing the high beams in action.....

I wouldn't mind trying it with someone I know first to make a few passes to ensure it's actually working before I'd trust it tbh... Just for peace of mind?
@Dreamension what are you doing this week? Have a spare night to drive past each other a few times in the dark? lol----------------------
