Off topic. Why remain nameless. VW Lennock are terrible!! Where shall we start? The experience sound exactly the same as what I've done across. Oh and the time they reversed my car during a service into a tow truck, didn't tell me until I went out and saw the car and asked wtf happened. Have dumped them completely, will never go back for a new car or service.

Hey, I picked up my new Jetta 147TSI a week ago and it is a great car. However, I think I might have the waste gate rattle as well which is apparent upon acceleration.

Did you end up getting it fixed? Thanks for your help.

My advice is to just book your car in and ask them to fix the wastegate rattle with the clip!

The fact that you're that specific, they will just do it without any questions or ask you to replicate it on the day.

              Sorry for the offtopic comment.

I just noticed that you guys seem to be getting 1000km checkups?

I was told by my dealer that 15000km was the first service?

              Should I have had a 1000km one?

New VWs dont have 1000km check up schedule. But u can always book a time to express any warranty concerns u have

Hopefully VW service people have become more customer service oriented since the bad media exposures lately.

So back to Canberra's worst car dealership. After previously reporting an intermittent rattle sound, which the dealership conveniently couldn't diagnose during warranty, had the car looked at by a reputable service mechanic. They confirmed it was indeed the wastegate rattle as designed in this thread. So booked the car in with the dealership for today. Despite confirming when I booked the fix wouldn't cost anything despite being out of warranty, and arriving to see a big red recall stamp on my paperwork the dealer is planning to charge for fixing this. Despite being reported in warranty. Lennock Phillip are just disgracefully bad at customer service & satisfaction. They did say they'll "see what they can do" before I left. They have a track record of this nonsense too. Had a park brake fault that was reported in warranty, but was undiagnosed as they couldn't replicate it. Then out of warranty, bang diagnosis and tired to hit me up for money. VW Australia came to the party that time to have the cost reimbursed. I suspect only the intervention of VW Australia or the ACC will resolve this one....again. Car pick up is at 12.

2.5 hours late and without apology, but it's fixed and that rattle has gone. Wasn't charged at the counter, but was told they'd try bill VW for it, and if they can't they send me an invoice.

I had noises on the door / window seals in my GTI and Denlo parramatta blamed me and the Bilstein coilovers for it after i had reported the noise.

I dont know if they have employed a sevice manager with sufficient IQ & EQ to perform decent 'customer service' role.., anyway customers DO NOT like to be blamed and would prefer a diplomatic resolution that makes sense.

The same staff lied to me too. But i wont go to the details.

I bought 3 cars within 2 yrs from their dealership group and that was how they served me with the after sales experience.

After doing my own reading on this resourceful forum and trial and error myself to locate the source, it was just dry seals and dry lube stick costing $2-$3 fixed it! I apply it every few mths and it has been quiet as new!

Anyone actually installed the clip themselves? Started get the rattle after acceleration, and warranty ran out 1 month ago! Filmed a small video so you can hear if it's the same problem, noise coming from front end under turbo, downpipe area.

I'd call up the dealer and see if they'd still do it under warranty. They can probably still get it covered by VW so likelyit won't cost you anything.

I went yesterday to Volkswagen Essendon to inquire about warranty, they told me I would be now stuck with the cost even though it only ended 1 month ago. Was also told that they would have to run diagnostics to see what the problem was $145. Wouldn't a qualified mechanic who works on Volkswagens all day know what the problem is? Anyway, I will post vid today.

I would have thought every dealership in Australia would know about the 2.0TSI wastegate rattle by now... Along with the creaky door seal/door latch noise.

I bought the clip from aliexpress us$20 posted. Had it installed by a specialist independent for a small cost while having my dsg fluid replaces (a hoist is required to do it safely).

Ecs tuning is $40 plus shipping. Local.. who knows!

Couldnt bother going to a dealership although my gti is still under wty.

The dealership i went to for my tig, they acknowledged it but i still had to go for a drive with the mechanic to show him the rattle before they fitted one.
