Not sure if this video of the audi clip being put on the wastegate actuator rod is on the forum.
Looks like the pictures that were shown earlier by Corey are the same guy.
Here's the video:

yay! finally got the clip installed
after 4 emails and one mildly intimidating email i finally get a response from the dealer and car received the fix, so VW WA is now authorised to install the clip under warranty
They didnt even bother testing whether my car had the sound or not (well not that i'm aware of anyway)
Clip definitely makes a difference in terms of wastegate rattle, but to be honest you can still hear it rattling away but muted which is better than a kick up the pants

Ha - dealer (when they finally agreed to do it under warranty), reckons it took them half a day because they had to take everything off to get at itOriginally posted by Corey_R View PostHehe... it's funny that it's LITERALLY a 3 minute job from start to finish (if you have access to a hoist or a proper jack to be under the car)

Spoke to my dealer today and they've agreed to get the clip in and fit it.
Since putting on the tune I've noticed when driving in "D" a rattle under accelleration at low RPM (1,500-1,800). Hopefully the clips fixes things as it's pretty annoying.
But then again the alternate solution is run in manual mode and keep it above 2,000 RPM when accelerating.... or maybe a DSG tune.

I wonder if they would just supply me the clip?
I cant be stuffed waiting an hour for something that realistically probably takes 10 minutes.
They would probably wait longer to do mine as well as i have a half hour run up the freeway to do before i get to the dealer

I beleive it only takes about 5-10 minutes to fit.... but a good hour for the turbo to cool down.Originally posted by ido09s View PostI wonder if they would just supply me the clip?

Fortunately my local dealer is only up the road from my work so it's not such a hassle.

The dealer that did mine took half a day - had to take all the pipework (and turbo?) off to do it (apparently). I know - I didn't believe it eitherOriginally posted by tigger73 View PostI beleive it only takes about 5-10 minutes to fit.... but a good hour for the turbo to cool down.

I'm not sure if they fixed it in MY12. If you don't hear a rattling sound then you don't have a problem.
Usually happens under heavyish load at low revs.
I suspect it only happens/gets complained about on some vehicles so they just do the fix when people complain.
