Territory 190kW and 383Nm - 36k is about the only one i'm aware of $ v performance that's better for power and isn't more expensive. Other that are close are the Forester XT 169kW/320Nm and is about 40k, Outlander 162kW/276Nm and about 40k, CX7 175kW/350Nm 42k...

125TSI + Stage 1 = best built and performance SUV for money (IMO). Hence why I got one.

Sharkie, yes, but cheaper? All those are more expensive than a stock Tig (unless you get into the options!) Compared with an ordinary RaV4, Forester etc, the stock TSI is the quickest - and by far the better engine.

As 08elf said, compared to a 147TSI they are no more expensive and faster...... and much larger. If somebody came to me and asked for advice on a quickish family SUV, I'd be pointing them towards the V6 RAV4 ..... space, pace, though not handling & Toyota reliability would make it the 1 to buy ..... if they came asking for a small SUV runaround that has heaps of performance potential I'd point them at the Tiguan.

Territory is actually slower than a Tig ...... however, there are now rumours of a WRX version (+-200kw with suspension mods) of the Forrester coming and that will knock the modded Tigs of its throne of BFYB SUV (when modded).

Yes, I saw and posted in another thread (Downpipe/Exhaust 2.0 TSi).

Question the site says it's 3" and there has been plenty of discussion around the 4Mo getting in the way of a straight 3" downpipe, yet to me that looks to be without split? correct?

How much room does that leave? Any rubbing? No photo's perchance on a tiguan?

We managed to get enough clearance with this design - it's tight though!

I'd still take the VW over the Subaru. I paid $32k for my ex demo 125kw tsi. Chump change for such a good car.

Chip+downpipe+intake for a few grand i think the Tig still represents good value. Even with just a chip it's a lot of fun.

Ok, next question. Someone contacted me regarding getting an Oettinger reflash done for a TDI with good results. Has anyone had this done for a TSI?

Yes, I started out with the Oettinger remap in my TSI. Didn't like it at all. Power delivery very much in the upper reaches of rev range. Dumped it over for the APR map - and all was good!

Gotta love the go from a Tig with APR goodies ..... when its up to sticking with HSV E2 Senators with massive 6.2l V8s its got to be a good thing ....

I now know of 1 such Brisbane HSV driver who will be worried and slightly nervous every time he looks in the mirror and sees a Tig behind him ....

Went to the Canberra vw centre today to get a trial remap (six hours for free), decided to commit to the purchase while I was there (I am a shocking impulse buyer). It turns out that instead of the job being an easy 15 - 30 minutes that it will take around half a day. Apparently some of the 2010 models have a tricky new firewall which means the ecu needs to be removed from the car for the work to be done. Needless to say I went home a bit sadder and a bit slower than I had hoped...

Looks like I have to wait till I get back in Feb from our holiday. Probably a good thing I didn't spend the money then

Went back to Canberra VW centre today for the 15000 service and the APR stage 1 (I couldn't get the springs in today though ) . Enjoyed the drive back home very much. The Tig is deceptively quicker because the power is so smooth and constant. I can't believe the difference it has made, I am still smiling from the first time I planted it in second from a rolling start...

Thought I was going to have some fun with what I thought was a boy racer in my mirrors. Turned out to be an Aston Martin so I reconsidered...

Hey Captain, haven't you got those springs in yet? Mate you'll love it once you do. I think the Haldex might actually be a really good upgrade. Clutch is must too I think- looking at options at the moment.

Speaking of clutches, apparently the guys at CVWC make their own, out of other vehicles like Transporters etc that work really well. Now all I need to do is plant that money tree. Wifey just dug a 7 x 2 x 6 foot deep hole out the back, maybe I should plant it there
