  • They are not Raderwerks wheels...
The company gave me such a great deal on the wheels, in return a photoshoot and some promo work for them. Until i get these wheels on my Tiguan i can't really say much about them.
They are custom made 3 piece forged wheels made in Miami USA, so yes they can be made to any specs you desire.
    22x9 front
    22x10.5 rear.
Staggered fitment would not be a problem (wheel engineer assured me), by the way BMW X6, X5, Porsche Cayenne all run staggered fitments.
Still researching tyre sizes but l think we may go with 245-35-22 front and 285-30-22 rear.

    • Can we please have the name of the store and manufacturer? BTW your rear tyres at 285/30/22 are way off the original diameter, about 7% out, as a general rule of thumb 2% difference from original is about the most you'd want to go, you may want to rethink that size. Here's a useful calculator;

      • Might have some clearance problems if you are running 245/35/R22's on the front.

        Mine go close with 245/45/R19's

        • Yes about 10kph SLOW so i have to keep that in mine.
What i do need to get correct is the overall diameter of the 22 inch tyres which your tire calculator shows to be pretty close 730.25 mm front and 729.74 mm rear.
Just give me about 2 weeks till i get these tyres and all will be reviewed!!

Have you measured the wheel arch gap to see if the tyres will fit, i am curious to see how this plays out.

So, looking at this chart, even 20" would slow the Tig down considerably, Am I correct?
if so, 19" would be the biggest up size you can go without having any negative effects in drive-ability and should i include worse MPG?
For those of you guys with up sized rims, have you notice any negative impact in MPG? how bout Braking?

The difference will come from both the weight of the wheel/tyre combo and the rolling diameter/width.
Generally as you up size the wheel's get heavier = worse MPG, i have noticed a slight change for worse since i got my heavy 19's put on.

Braking is fine though, wider tyre = more contact = better braking imho.

                    • Does anyone know anything about GMAX wheels? GMAX

I like the looks of the 'Verve Black' and the "Avant-Garde' GMAX there is a picture of a Tiguan with the 'Avant-Garde' in their gallery.

Yeah i agree with you except on braking, adding rolling weight to the braking system, "should" diminish stopping power (assuming here) your putting more stress on the brakes to stop the heavier wheels...even if they are wider, am i wrong?

                          Definitely agree to that.

Assuming the brakes are the same as my mk5 Golf GTI with standard 17", they just don't seem to have the same initial bite and require more force to be applied overall.

Definitely ain't getting the "flying through the windscreen" sensation, I was expecting from the GTI.

                            I know Jax sell them.
Those wheels however look like a replica of the Project Khan wheels so i would be a bit suspicious.

Also, cleaning them is going to be a bitch!

I haven't noticed any differnce in stopping power upgrading from stock 16's to heavyier 19's.
I still get that bite and almost put me through the windscreen if i hit the brakes to hard/quickly.

                            • Thanks to Aussietig selling his previous wheels, My wife has some new wheels on her Car. Not fitting them yet, - will wait until her current tyres wear out, but I wanted a sneak peek to see what they looked like.
