Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hey team_v, hope the trip away was a good one!
Keen on hearing your thoughts on your recently acquired exhaust sound over the duration of a long trip? I suppose sitting on 2K or a bit more wouldn't be a drama. Thoughts?

Home loan is more important plus i think if anything it would need handling mods first (i.e. coilovers etc) as power isn't really an issue.

You could notice it but most of the cruise was at 110km/h which puts you above the "drone range".
We also had the back seats pushed down and the back loaded up with camping gear.
All in all it took the trip well, loaded up it still hauled well, overtook with ease (thank you stage 2!) and it took to the dirt roads really well.
AWD kicked in a few times on the gravel which was an interesting experience as i haven't really had the chance to take it off the tarmac yet so it's nice to see how it works (progressivley) and the ABS also works well on gravel.
The few very shallow creeks were easy as to cross and the car is now filthy.
Also managed to have a near miss with a wallaby that ended up going under the car but due to the added height of my soft-roader it got up and bounded off straight after we past over it.
Made me chuckle at all the people who said i should have got a Golf R instead (would not have a radiator or a front bumper bar - closest town was 150km away with 40km being dirt roads)
So it's still the best car i could have gotten, compromising so it isn't the best at everything but a jack of all trades and good enough at all of them for me.

Took the Tig out for another laps session at Lakeside Raceway.
Videos will be up tomorrow however it was quite damp so we were supposed to be driving more reserved (i.e. max of 120km/h, no overtaking unless on the main straight etc)

2 Video's from the lakeside laps.
Very damp track and a lot more restrictions than last time so no "super-tig" in these ones unfortunately.

I see a bit of a mixture of damp track & dry track. A few good sized puddles off to the side!! Did you do some more experimenting with ESP Off?
Cheers for the vid's!Current: MY18 TRANSPORTER CrewVan, Indium Grey

Didn't feel like risking anything and we weren' going fast enough for it to inhibit my driving.
Next one is a flat track with fast corners out at Queensland Raceway so if the weather is good we will probably have some good super-tig overtaking footage for you.

Hey Team_v,
Just wondering abt launch controls on the Tig. Heard the LC is done by, turning off the ESP, put the DSG (only for DSG I heard) into 'S' mode, press and hold on the brakes w the left foot, floor the accelerator w the right and it'll rev to a certain range... N let go of the brakes... n car is launched.
Have u tried on the Tig?

Best bet would be to check out the mytiguan forum or try the version for the mk6 gti.

Launch control on DSG is activated by turning off the ESP and Auto-Hold, select either manual or S, hold your left foot on the brake and right foot on the accelerator and it'll hold at approx 4000rpm. Let your foot off the brake and hold on.
I've tired it once in the dry and it just felt nasty violent. Mechanical sympathy has a grip on me and I won't be doing it again. In the dry. In the wet or on the dirt it's a different story and a whole lot of amusement if that's your thing. If you do find a nice safe place away from public roads to have a play, you'll find the ESP is never truly off. It'll allow you to get the bum out to a dregee but it'll slap you on the wrist and end your epic tig drifting fun if you get too excited.Pepper Grey MY11 TIGUAN 125 TSI DSG | APR Stage 1 | Comfort Pack | Carpet Mats | MDI | BT | Tint | Custom Audio
