Finally received the vin for our car but I'm not sure if it's on a ship or not. The details show a ship called the Queen Sapphire and the tracking system shows it at Southampton but when I type in the vin it comes back with no records found.

In any case as long as I've got some idea that the cars been built and maybe on it's way I'm content with that.

I have a Golf GTI on order and my VIN has just shown up on the Queen Sapphire 10 minutes ago... our cars could be on the same boat!

Figured out how to use the system & your right hcvo 1 our cars are on the same ship, my Tiguan 147 is due to land at Port Kembla on the 10th June.

I know nothing about cargo ships but I would have thought it would be able to unload off a dock in Sydney. As long as it's on the way I'm happy.

It's probably due to the delivery service (Partricks/Toll etc) being based at Port Kemblar.
Glad you finally found out how to use the system, now the daily checks begin lol.

Now the real tracking begins with daily visits to Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions to see where the Queen Sapphire is

I knew the last few weeks were going to be the hardest but i never really knew how time can drag until now.

With a bit of luck should have the Tig by next week.................The chap I mentioned with the late delivery got his delivered yesterday, will go check it out on the weekend as it is similar speced to what I ordered....

I spoke to Dermot and he said the average was 14 days from landing to the dealer and then assumably a few days (4-5) for dealer prep then pick up.

Let us know how you go though and how many days it takes from landing to pick up.

So today marks 100 days since I ordered my Tiguan.
The dealer (Highway Auto) have advised they will let me know where my car is sitting and any further info (hopefully when i can expect to pick it up).

Will let you know what they say.
Hoping to have the car before May 22.

Still yet to drive a manual Tig (tested an auto 125 and 103) so hopefully i made the right choice with that one.





Quick Update:
Highway Auto expect to receive the car by the 14th and say I should get the car several days after.
Looks like the 22 May pickup i am after will go through.

Don't let that bother you mate, I never testdrove 1 before ordering either and a year later, still happy with it ....

Tig delivery update...........
Dealer called yesterday advising delivery late next week either Fri or Sat, that makes its approx 14 days after landing in the docks......now I have bags under my eyes from the lack of sleep....Damm its going to be a slow week..
