Finally get the Tig tomorrow........my choice to delay it by a day as I wanted to take the day off.......

Team-V & XTG you guys must be stoked with your new cars.........

Doc Dog all the best for tomorrow as well, I think all our vehicles must have been on the Toreador & quite possibly the same build week if not day....so our vehicles are siblings in a way.........she will be christened as Grettel as I turn her over for the first time, an old tradition that I have to name new cars....

You have no idea how good it feels to be back inside the car.
Every time i drive it i smile uncontrollably and remember what made me take the plunge and purchase the car.

        Mine has no name yet.
        Just the Tig/Tiggy.

Can't wait to see pictures of your car.
And i know what you mean about not sleeping.

          Hello TIGTDI,

It's a GREAT car! The only problem that I have to date is that the exterior plastic protection (below front passenger door) clashes with the internal lining. I have organised to get it fixed next Friday. Hope that everything will be alright after that! Two days on, still reading the manual and tried out the functions.

          Regards,
          XTX

Hopefully it all goes well and you have no problems with it.

All has been good so far, the bixenons are AMAZING . Felt a bit cheated by the dealer, only got a 3/4 full tank and no freebies...not even a keyring.

I dropped that a friend had just bought a standard Golf from their competition and he got a full tank of petrol, floor mats and a bottle of wine in a leather cooler...their answer was that they are only required to put in $30 of diesel (1/2 tank) and that we were lucky we got 50% more... Not that I wanted to screw them for everything but after spending nearly $50K if would be nice to get a bit of a thank you via a free VW umbrella or something.

Also the sales guy almost ran up the arse of a van when he was taking us around the block after showing us the park assist My girlfriend almost punched him in the face for that, she has saved for the past 4 years for the car, it would break her heart to have it gone within 10 mins of handing over the money.

Lucky the car is so good other wise I would be far more upset...VW should use that as a sales point "Tiguan, makes you feel at peace" Oh, did I mention the bixenons are AWESOME

Well onto ebay for some floor, boot and dash mats and to Bunnings for some scotchgard spray.

            Here are some pics

              Congrats on the pickup Doc.
Shame about the lack of extra's though.

I gort a full tank of fuel but nothing extra over that.
I was expecting an umbrella or something.

              Enjoy it on the weekend.

I at least got a full tank of fuel. But like you, nothing more than that. *sigh*

The saying we came up with was "Don't worry, the Tig will protect you"

It wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't know about all the goodies that my friend received from the other VW dealer in town

The fuel thing annoys me because when we were getting quotes they made me feel like a **** for asking if it came with a full tank of diesel. The sales guy sort of rolled his eyes and said "Yeah, of course it will be full. What kind of dealership would give you a brand new car without a full tank"...It appears HIS dealership is!

My girlfriend also mentioned this morning that she found it weird that they took us to the service centre and only showed us the after-market accessories counter. She was expecting to meet the service manager and be told about pricing and courtesy car/bus costs. All we were told was that we needed to call 3 weeks in advance so they could fit the future services in "to suit your needs"...Consequentially our needs are to book it in at the Canberra Volkswagen Centre (where they require no more than a weeks notice) and walk 5 mins to work

I'm a bit confused about caring for the leather (some say cleaner and conditioner others say that it is coated leather so just mild detergent as conditioners will just sit on the coating). I'll hijack a thread in the interiors forum to get a better idea though and ask more detailed questions.

We are still enjoying the Tig, I always feel a bit of regret everytime I have to park it in the garage, I've "accidentally" missed our street a few times just so I can drive it around the block before parking it

The sales guy sent us an email asking how everything is going, I think I might mention about my disappointment that we didn't get a full tank. I'm tossing up whether to make comparisons to the other dealership in this email... I mean they provided an "adequate" sales experience, it is just that their competition provided an excellent one to my friend.

Here are a few more pics

My briefcase kept sliding around when I went around corners so I picked up a small cargo net from bunnings. Just need to fabricate some less obvious hooks and it will look like it is supposed to be there

My order for the Tiguan from Mid december finally arrived and I now the proud owner of a Tiguan 147 with Sunroof and Leather Seats. Pretty happy with the 20 mins I have spent in it. Feels very well built.
