I just bought a new Tiguan 132kw DSG today as a new company R&D car, so we will be revisiting this shortly. We will also be working on a direct fit APR intercooler (at the moment you have to modify the APR one slightly).
Lots of people spoke about seeing a stage 3 Tiguan, Maybe everyone will very soon
Oh yeah!
Can't wait to see what you guys can do with this one!

Great news for the Tigs to have another tuner interested in developing hardware.
Are you going to be dusting off your old DP jigs?
Can't wait to see how fast you can get one of these to go down the 1/4 mile. What stage 3 kit do you have planned? K04 or something bigger?
Not sure where we will head with this one yet, what we are excited about is the DQ500 DSG coupled with the TSI motor & the Haldex AWD kit too.
We already make 570hp on this engine in our GTI, we already know the DQ500 can handle 700hp & ~900nm (TTRS), we know the Haldex can handle our Golf R's 600hp & 800nm. Also excited about tyre size as the Golf R is extremely limited by 235 tyres maximum.
I'm not excited about the extra weight though - but I'll get over it.
Hopefully we have the entire VWR Brakes / wheels & suspension range fitted & develop the rest of our suspension components too.
Downpipes?
Re Visit the APR versions at this stage - That's plan A!

Yes apart from the weight penalty from a larger body, all the base hardware is there ready for someone to run a decent amount of power through the drivetrain. I think even the fuel pump would be able to cope with stage 3, though I guess in the overall scheme it's not a major cost to upgrade.
Which is why in DSG guise I think the Tiguan is an under-rated platform for making a hot SUV .
Be really interested to see what you guys come up with in terms of hardware and to see how the car develops.
Well all I can say was that my 125TSI Manual Tig with APR Stg2 (yes it had the APR DP and Carbonio) made 160kw atw and did 0-100 in 5.8s, so was a real sleeper performance SUV ...... I always felt it was limited by the strength of the clutch and gear ratios in the manual,
so looking forward to see what happens to this build, Guy, I expect it to be mind blowing (as always).

I would have thought you'd have a little poke with that tyre/rim width and offset.
I think you may need to start your own build thread as we seem to be getting a bit off topic
With lowered ride height it will pull the top's inside the guards but i am not sure if the whole thing nees to be inside in QLD or just the top.
I thought my ET35 8.5's were right on the limit.
I am sure a lot of people looking to fit new rims are wondering this. Seems that the 18/19x9 may require the guard extensions as these are fitted in other countries as "standard" when going to this width rim.
Would be good to get some shots on the car... But obviously understand if they're not 100% legal you're probably not going to advertise the fact.
Out with the spirit level... Unless of course you're looking to fit a body kit.

We tested it with a Hoosier A6 245 tyre on it (Which has a tread patch of 260mm) and it all ran inside. This car doesn't have flares on it (yet). When I get some rubber I will take some pics.
I do plan on guard extensions of some form though.
