What do other Tiggy owners have?[/QUOTE]

We use an unbrella type for shopping with the 18mth old slotted between the left/right rear seats through the armrest/ski port. My wife also carries a buggy-board (stand on trailer) attachment for this pram so the 3yr can be hurried along. The pram can fit in the 'boot' in a variety of diagonal arangements also to allow for shopping spoils. We cope with a full size German Shepard, pram & necessary stuff around town.

Doesn't really fit with your seating plan though.

We also use a Phil & Ted's Classic with 'double kit on back' which is bulky and awkard if other items are needed. I considered a strap hook to stand the Phil & Teds' on its side...
We have 2 child seats, non compact variety, either side and I've sat between them for 5 very awkard minutes, although I was exhausted, dehydrated & cramping from a day on the bike...

Eitherway, the flexible seating of the Tig mostly counterbalances the smaller luggage space. The ownership, quality and drive sealed the deal for us. Nothing we would drive day to day could cover all bases and although it's been done to death a roof boot will be bought at the time I can't pack creatively for longer trips. We pull a trailer & dirtbike from time to time down the highway allowing some bulky items to come that would otherwise not fit.

We rented an Xtrail a couple of weeks after buying the Tiguan. Tiguan to airport, Xtrail from airport. The differences were stark and I WOULD NOT own an Xtrail, ever! Yuck!

We put a Bugaboo Bee in the boot, you can fit it in sideways, however that doesn't leave you a lot of space for other stuff. But I think you get use to it and it just means you need to be smarter in organising the boot space, throw out unneccessary crap etc. We also have two compact size child seat at the back, passenger side and middle, and the room on the back of the driver is still reasonable. We move the 60% ( out of the 60/40) split forward a bit so the adult can have room for the shoulders at a slight recline. Again, just need to arrange a but smarter.

A wise word of a man without kids: "less space, less rubbish. It means, less things to carry around..."
I was one week in USA visiting friends and they have one baby boy. I was amazed with the amount of stuff they carry just to spoil the little prince. My mum could only carry one bag in the buses and that was it!
Even though I agree fatherhood is a blessing, you need to be either a superhero or completely mad. "IMO".

Good luck on your "search for the perfect pram"

We have a mclaren stroller and a mountain buggy pram (3 wheeled off roader type).
When we were looking at the Tiguan we queried the size of the boot area and salesperson says "it will fit prams in no worries"... lol... wife and i glanced at each other and both asked.. "mind if we try?" so we brought the mountain buggy in from our jetta and tried to fit it in..
No way was it gonna fit in there unless you took out the parcel shelf and had the pram on its side. Even taking the wheels off didn't help.
If you are doubtful and you have the pram/s already then take them in and try them.
Even if you fit the pram in you will be limited in what else you can cram in there with it.

My 125TSI Tiguan fits Bugaboo Cameleon without any problems, there are also space for an Esky box and a huge mummy bag, and I DONT need to move the rear seats to achieve this. It depends on how you utilise the space.

I don't know about the size of Mountain buggy or other brands' prams, I do notice some other prams are much bigger than Cameleon which is already quite big. That's why I brought my Bugaboo Cameleon to try Tiguan's boot before I bought the car, so both my wife and I are confident what we can fit into the boot.

I am pretty sure if it is Bugaboo Bee or Bee plus (latest version of the Bee), it should fit in ok and even with more space left.
Very glad we do not have to purchase another compact version of the pram.

Tiguan 132 TSI - Boot Space for a Pram

              Hi All,

I'm looking at buying the Tiguan 132 TSI ahead of our first baby. The only challenge is the space in the boot.

Does anyone know if it's big enough to fit the "mountain buggy swift" pram?

We don't have the pram or the car just yet so it's a case of what comes first... the chicken or the egg.

              Any help would be great!

Maybe book the car in for a test drive and take it to the pram shop and see if it fits.

The rear seats can slide forward and fold down so you get quite a bit of space.

I managed to fit in a cast iron table and 2 x 2 person chairs on the weekend.

My advice ... buy a Combi pram instead!

Otherwise be prepared to put your grocery shopping on the roof.

We have Stryder Plus pram and it just fit in the boot. It's a rather large pram.

Yesterday, we bought three timber garden beds from bunnings, 1200x1200x30 (knocked down). The Tig fit those (with one seat folded down), the pram (wheel removed), three adult (including driver) and a baby with her baby seat. Quite an impressive feat!!

                    • Skoda Octavia hatch or wagon - worth a look.

Also, ask yourself why you need a big pram. We had some monstrosity the wife & mother-in-law picked out & paid for before I had a chance to apply logic to the situation. It was a bit of a pain really. We bought an umbrella stroller at a garage sale for $10 & used it more than the pram.

Hey, by the looks of it the mountain buggy 'swift' seems about the same size as our Phil n Teds Sport, which fits in fine.

                        • Hahahaha

Its so funny hearing all you guys comparing Pram names and sizes...love all those fancy pram names they make up too!!!!

No seriously...Tigs are not the biggest load carriers...

If it is space you really want, try a Skoda Octavia wagon

Or try the Yeti. It has a different rear set-up to the tiguan...only catch is you will have to look at it if you buy it...although it wont look as bad from the drivers seat compared to what you will inflict on all oncomers who see you!

                            • It just looks like they threew together a mixture of headlights on the yeti and then shipped them out of the factory....
