20 Inch Rims On The Tiguan

Wow awesome wheels. Has to be the best wheels on a black Tig that I've seen so far. Makes me already want to ditch my 16" on my to be picked up vehicle from the dealer this Friday I'll be looking out for your car on the road

Sorry, but IMO it looks weird if you add big wheels and DON'T drop it ....

Unless you plan to take it off-road, in which case the performance wheels & tyres are pointless anyway, you need to drop it as the gaps between the wheels and the body makes it look awkward.

Dropping that Tig with those wheels will really make it look good ... and make it handle much much better.

Agree with Sharkie re looks a little weird, but yeh I dont want to lower my Tig either. has anyone checked out putting on bigger diameter tyres? Reckon larger diameter tyres would look great on the Tig, then no need to lower as wheel arch is filled and would actually increase clearance slightly. I'm aware there may be some legal and other issues to sort out, but I am at least considering for my remapped Tig. Contrary to the direction for most with a remap, I want to create more of a rally type weapon that can handle just about anything and still be fun on the tarmac.

Not sure about NSW, but in QLD it is illegal to change the overall diameter of your wheels by more than 10%. Which is why 215-60-16s end up at 235-50-18s or 235-55-17s for intstance.

Going wider (which the Tigs could all do with both onroad and offroad) and then going larger profile, means you will quickly exceed that 10% and I've yet to find a reputable wheels shop willing to go beyond that 10% on manufacturers specifications.

In my case it was wider and lower profile, but the same principle applies I'm afraid.

I'd suggest you find a suitable wheel and then take it to a shop (not on the car) and tell them its for an off-road hilux or something and then fit them on the Tig when you need them..... at home yourself ....
