Any body running 19" the size I got qoted to run on the 19 savannah allys was 255/40/19 which retain the 27" OD of the 215/65/16 on a stocky. The Kumho site list the KU31 around $400 rrp but should be cheaper from someone like Tempe got aprice on some Yokahama Adavan 103 which is a quality tyre but more towards$600 and the Pirellis don'tr even ask in the 19's. The hankook Ventus Evo-12 and Evo1 are a decent midrange tyre for the money and very undeerated, I have some on a WRX and they ride fine and not too harsh but then again I prefer a bit of roadfeel over overdampened comfort.

I'm very happy with the KU31, better than I expected to be honest. To give you an idea on price the RRP on the Kumho site for mine was $349 but Tempe charge around $190 for them.

So I am guessing approx mid to high $200s for 19"s I wouldn't mind checking out the KU19 tread which is an assymetrical trea which they claim is good with noise and comfort but still maintainng performance and only abot 10 to twenty more than the KU21. For wheels I am looking at the RS6 Apec Slines(look good on my P/shop mokups)which have grown on me any body put these on a Tig?

Below is link to the same wheel in an 18 at St George tyres if you look at the picture it the same wheel so maybe someone in Aus. will have a19.
I also think St George is in Sydney haven't heard of any outlet down Melbourne, if they do that would be handy.

New tyres on late June Tiguan delivery

My 125 has (finally) arrived at the dealer this week - having read this thread at my request they had agreed to try & not give me Hankooks (I use the car down the snowfields a bit was my argument) last I heard from them was all the cars in this shipment seemed to have Hanooks so I may have no choice. The reviews on their web site seem OK but you an always find a review which suits !

I replaced original tyres on my T5 with hankook and so far I'm happy with them - they allready outlasted original Michelin Pilot Premacy, can't fault them.
I've had my 125 for 2 weeks. It's got Hankooks, they drive very well, are very quiet, and feel very smooth. They just dont look anything special... but I'll be upgrading to 19" soon, so am looking at packages to best suit.

have you checked out the cost of 19" tyres as compared to 18". I had "cheap" Maxis put on mine and while handling and grip was impressive, couldn't live with the noise of them. Ended up ditching them and went with Bridgestones, but at $500 each they're not cheap.

                          Which Bridestones are those?

I got 18" Goodyear DS-3Gs priced at $480 each whereas Kuhmo Ecstas are below $200 each ...... still to decide which way to go .....

Simon, how are those Ecstas going now that youve had them for a few weeks?

I know what you mean Sharkie.
I was looking at 19" and decided i don't want to spend that much on tyres.
Looked at 18" and the tyres i want are expensive but i assume will last longer than the kumho's.
In the end i will probably get the kumho's as even if they wear down and need replacement twice as much, the only cost half as much so it evens out.

Got Hankooks on it as delivered ......

Not too happy and told the dealer straight up that if I wasn't changing the tyres soon I'd make them replace it with others. Got fed the usual story that they have no control over what VW puts on in the factory ....

Now after a few 100kms they are not actually that bad. They are quiet and reasonably grippy.

Still replacing them after the 1000km service though ....
