    Hi Tiguanfan

I'm waiting my tiguan 147 TSI to arrive soon, ordered with 18 inch New York rims.
I would like to know which Bridgestone tyres did your car come with please.

    cheers

I have commented before on my tyres. I got 50,000 from the front Hankooks and have put Cooper CS4s on to replace them, with a decrease in economy from average of 5.4l/100 up to 6.4l/100 for a trip. I am now looking at replacing the remaining 2 tyres having managed to get another 20,00 (total &0,000) from the original Hanooks. Not sure what I will get - any suggestions?

I got Hankooks on mine and got 50,000on the front and managed to get a further 20,000 from the ones that were on the rear. Have replaced 2 so far with Cooper CS4 and about to buy new 2 , not sure yet what brand.

Kinda aggressive/sporty looking tyre for a SUV

Ours came on Hankooks too and it's good to see that Hankook tyres last on Tig!

                Update.

Running Kumho Ku31's on the Tig with the bigger wheels and boy do they have some grip in them.
Mated to the Haldex 4 - 4Mo system it works a treat.
Barely have any squealing when under heavy use and no noticeable wear after pushing them hard for 1000km.

Definitely worth a look when you are getting replacement tyres later on.

My T5 came on Michelin Pilot Premacy 235/55/17 when others were complaining that tyres are bold at 20,000km, I looked at mine, done just 10,000km and was thinking: yeah, sure 20,000km - looks like I'll do 50,000km + on mine. However at 25,000km they had just 1mm above TWI. I replaced them bold at 37,000km.

So, don't be surprise if they disappear in front of your eyes after 10 -15,k km.

Hey team v, just looking at replacements for mine and checked out the pricing on Kumhos. Seems there's two to choose from, the KU31's at $330 ea and the KU19's at $360 ea. What's your pricing like in comparison? These guys are saying big discount to me!

Are you still liking the Kumho's? (and anyone else that has them too )

At $360 each compared to the Bridgestones at $490ea, I'm thinking they might be worth a shot. Only difference between the 31's and 19's is what I found at this site - for what it's worth. Kumho Tyres - Ecsta Ku19

                    • I quite like the KU31s ... good grip, a bit squeally when pushed, but lots of comms and good grip nonetheless ....

I paid $180 each for 18"s ..... normal RRP $330 ... actually did 1 a week ago as I picked up an unrepairable puncture on 1 rear and a repairable 1 on the other rear .... (bloody tradie dropped a box full of screws in front of me) .... so now I have even less space as I carry a 16" stock wheel in the boot as a spare .... don't like the space-saver ....

go to Option 1 Garage - performance car japanese performance parts Brisbane Queensland Australia workshop drift racing nissan and ask them for the KU31s .... they do it for almost half price compared to anybody else ....

I run KU31 on the Octavia. They were supposedly shagged when I bought the wheels & I've got another 10,000km out of them, so my experience is with a very worn tyre. They are a very good all-rounder & I would buy again.

By all accounts KU19 is a fraction better in the wet & a fraction quieter but I'd still get the KU31. Have you got a price from Option1 Garage yet?

Option1Garage quotexd me very competitive pricing for the Kumho KU31's.

I got them with my wheels for $200 each which as very good.
Haven't had a problem with them and would use them again.

                            • wow, that's great Clay. I'll give them a call tomorrow for sure. Seems the 31's are a bit softer ride and bit quieter than the 19's, so with the H&R's might be the better way to go.

                              • Hey all, I also have the KU31's on mine..(came with the wheels from Tempe Tyres). Very happy with the tyres. No squeals...even when pushed hard. Very good grip, both in the wet and the dry.

                                I would buy them again.
