Sorry if you feel that I am in some way taking advantage of a 'captive' market because I just happen to be one of the few people in Australia at this point who have VCP.
It's a freely available product and if anyone has it I am more then happy to help them out with how to use it.
Regards
I too own a VCP cable (had it for many years) though I do find it a lot-less intuitive than VCDS/OBD11 - but it's clear advantage is it's ability to program modules down to firmware level. Despite our "differences", I still want to learn more about this tweak (and, no - out of respect for your views and your desire to upgrade your gear, I won't be providing a competing service here in Melbourne).
See you over on the VCP forum!!!
Don
PS: I also have a HEX series cable from Ross Tech (I don't use my HEX+CAN anymore - will sell it when I get sufficiently motivated)) - there is no comparison between the two - my new HEX-NET runs like a cut cat in comparison!!Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

I would ask (not demand) that they in turn consider showing some acknowledgement to Rainesh for making this possible, but at the end of the day that's their decision.
If this were simply a matter of coding and adaption modifications we wouldn't be having this discussion.
But VW have chosen to mask these features with parameters in the module MCU. I didn't make that choice.

And that shows the confusion around the assistance systems.....

Answered with....
>Wow I'm just surprise you don't get lane assist and TJA for a 2018 Q5. How much did you pay for it
Has the car in Canada got side assist or lane assist or active lane guidance? That much needs sorting out before coding for TJA can be looked at. VW themselves have cause a lot of this confusion as their videos and hand books are full of contradictory terms.

Anyone in Adelaide capable of performing the mod?

Hopefully will be Picking up my DEC 2016 build Tiguan (with Driver Assist) next week. Most likely will not have TJA option enabled as VW Customer Care have confirmed that it is not available in Australia, however some Lucky customers do have it enabled from the factory I have heard. Is there anyone in Adelaide who might be able to offer their services to enable this feature?

It won't have TJA, or ALG (Active Lane Guidance) enabled. Of the two ALG is the more advantageous to have and all TJA does is extend the use of ALG under about 67KPH down to zero. Read this thread fully especially the latter parts of it as the understanding of what TJA did changed and we found out that it was not fully autonomous driving in stop start traffic and the VW / SKODA videos are misleading to say the least. I certainly would not cry tears of blood if I had not been able to have it activated to tell the truth but I would definitely be upset if ALG went away.Last edited by Ozsko; 20-12-2017, 10:22 AM.
