It's quite likely that VW will have allocated all the stock of these limited edition vehicles to dealerships and not kept any in VW "general" stock. You'll have to either find a dealer with the colour combination you're after or find one that is able to swap it into their stock. If one dealer is chasing one colour and another dealer another and means both of them get the sale it makes things relatively easy.Originally posted by Vietbargain View PostChullora nsw. Not sure how much is truth, but the salesman mentioned that most dealerships get 3 regular and 3 sunroof wolfie. But that seems quite low considering the amount of dealerships there are in oz.
Seems like a few people on the forum have just called up dealerships and negotiating over the phone, try that?
Often dealers won't give up the stock if they think they've got a potential sale on a car (active leads) so if you're really after a particular colour/option then you're best off finding where the car(s) with that colour /option are located and dealing direct with the dealer with stock. Obviously if they find out you're desperate for the car they've got it plays more into their favour and you may not be able to negotiate the "best" price - unless there's a few of them around and you can play off a couple of dealers against each other.
Some of the dealers will list their stock on the VW (dealer) website. That way you can go onto the site and search for what model/option/colours they are showing. Obviously that relies on someone updating the stock and you'll always have to ring the dealer to confirm availability.
Step 1: Go to VW find a dealer: Find a Dealer | Volkswagen Australia
Step 2: Once you have located the dealer you're interested in, click on the website link for the dealer:
Step 3: Now you can search the dealer stock for new/demo/used cars. Some dealers don't list everything and the info is only as up to date as the dealer keep it but if you're hunting for a colour/option this may be a reasonable place to start (other than ringing around and asking to talk to the stock controller): North Shore Volkswagen - Our Stock

On the factory tow bar, the reverse sensors are deactivated when you plug in the tow plug, but also disables side assist.Originally posted by jdstephens View PostThe tow bar is another thing I need to research, I do a bit of bike riding so need a 50mm hitch, but worry the after market tow bars will interfere with the reverse sensors. Would prefer these automatically turn off when a hitch is attached. Is this possible?
If you leave it unplugged, side assist and reverse sensors work but rear traffic assist will slam the brakes on when reversing.
you can disable this along with the audible warnings from the rear sensors on the touchscreen when you select reverse gear2018 Allspace 162TSI R Line

You're stalking dealerships on public holidays now???Originally posted by jdstephens View PostJust got back from my dealer and took photos of the Wolfsburg headlights, I compared them to the electrical service manual and they indeed do look like the MID version. It’s seems the hardware is in fact installed on the Wolfsburg but for some reason they have locked it out via software, one of the first things I do when I take delivery is coding this to on

It doesn't need to be on the contract as it's a VW promotion. Just check with VW customer care when you take delivery that the warranty is up until 2024.Originally posted by iampivot View PostFor those that got their Tiguan delivered before the end of the year, does your contract explicitly state five year warranty, or is that simply implied?

If they're changing their warranty for all cars purchased from 1st Jan 2019, I can't imagine they would have much ground legally trying to deny anyone that purchased before that date with delivery after 31st Dec 18. I'm in that boat and trying to look at it pragmatically.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostIt doesn't need to be on the contract as it's a VW promotion. I have been known to drive past dealers on a Sunday/after hours to take a closer look at cars - when you're not under time pressure and/or have sales guys asking if they can help you.Originally posted by jdstephens View PostHaha!!
Their shut, but have the Wolfy I drove yesterday parked out the front. Interestingly, it’s now sold! Wasn’t at 2pm yesterday afternoon- they sell quick!!
I know this is slightly off-topic but did you see the new 1.99% finance deal on Wolfsburg? I'd be contacting the dealer and seeing if you can get the lower rate... as well as following up to see how they're going with securing you a car.

Yeah it’s the same deal as yesterday, 1.99% for 3 years or 2.99% over 4. Looks like they extended it. Will be contacting them but I think I like my chances of getting the car now. Might have to wait a bit longer (I hope anyway)Originally posted by tigger73 View PostI know this is slightly off-topic but did you see the new 1.99% finance deal on Wolfsburg? Didn't know there is a black wheel option.... I'm glad I didn't take the sunroof option as I'm sure the aircond will be less efficient.
