Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • So I got quoted from a dealer on the drive away prices (starting prices & I haven’t even not negotiated it down yet) for:
    1. Fully loaded R line in black $63,800
    2. Fully loaded Wolfsburg (same as #1 but with extra upgrades as we know) $63.400

so it makes sense to get the Wolfsburg as you get more for less the price?

You should be able to get 2k or so off the fully loaded r-line but discounting is harder on the Wolfsburg. To my mind the HUD and some black tinting doesn’t make it worth that much of a price difference.

These are the most realistic prices I’ve heard on here so far. I have been quoted something similar.

As much as I’d love for it to be true, some of the prices you guys are being quoted don’t seem to be real. Not that you guys aren’t telling the truth more that I think the dealers are talking rubbish.

Haven’t enjoyed this purchasing experience so far......what ever happened to it being exciting. Dealers have been really poor

those "realistic" prices are basically RRP

the negotiating process is difficult but keep calling around until you find a dealer willing to meet your expectations. have you tried any broker services?

Exactly! It seems dealers themselves don’t know the RRP. Or at least they need to realise that people these days have all the information so no point playing the “we haven’t received pricing yet, we should get it those afternoon” game. Most people know what they want and the RRP before walking in, it’s just the details we ask to confirm such as on road costs etc. can’t be that hard.

Honestly, I haven’t tried the broker service yet. I was thinking yesterday I should give that a try.

            Cheers

            • Go the broker service - national car brokers charged me $400 and got me 2.5k off with immediate delivery. They just go to every dealer in your state (or nsw if in act). I’d honestly never do the multiple dealer visit thing again!

                • If you're going to use a broker (as I did for my Tiguan and new Polo) I strongly suggest you tell them what price you're aiming for. My broker came back with a few quotes which were basically RRP and I told him they were way over what I knew people on this forum were paying. He asked me for a figure, so I gave him the lowest price I'd seen on here and he went back to the dealers and basically matched it.

                          • I got a pearl white Wolfy Tiguan for $59990 in Brisbane. Was told today by the dealer that the ship landed today with cars and should be a couple of weeks away so excited.

                            • Signed for mine yesterday, $58k d/a Gold Coast without sunroof. Worked with the same sales person before, said the deal was quite skinny. Apparently arrived in Brisbane dock yesterday so it's here. It's their first of two units, second unit with sunroof due November.

                              Good bye Mk6 GTD :'(

                              • Anyone could share the price paid for 110TSI Allspace with Sound and vision pack or without SVP?
110TSI will be enough for single driver in most time?
