How much did you pay for your Tiguan?

Just a quick question: how long is the rego on your new car when you buy it from the dealer?
On my invoice it just says that Rego is included in the price of a new car (assuming 12 month). Went online to check and what a surprise, it's only valid until October, making it 6 months since purchase.

You should get this info from your vehicle sales contract that you would have signed.

The amounts should tell you whether its a 6 month or 12 month registration.

And whether you are getting standard, slim line or euro plates.

Compulsory Third Party: $510.40
VicRoads Administration Fee: $34.67

Those amounts above represent a 12 month registration right? Seems they’re 3 components of the rego, comes to about $800, which is spot on for 12 months.

Yes the major factor being the 1.8% is only available on the Trendline, Comfortline and Sportline. So it makes the Highline a lot less attractive when you’re comparing monthly repayments.

I’m currently just under $50k for a MY18 (2017 build) new Sportline with metallic paint and sunroof. It’s a reasonable deal given the car has to come from interstate. The only hang up I have is getting a MY18 car without the extra USB ports (not a major deal-breaker) but the extra depreciation on the 2017 build is more of a concern as it’ll hurt me at the other end.

$50k for sportsline? Seems high.

They are about $51k retail and the highline is $55k (approx). I got my highline for just over $51k with boot matt and DAP. Makes me thing they can come to $48k or at least $49k for yours if not less.

Retail on a Sportline with metallic paint and sunroof is just under $54k. I’m effectively at $49k as they’re throwing on tint for “free” with the deal.

There’s not a lot in it as they have to bring the car in as there’s transportation costs as well.

With those options (paint and sunroof) the comfortline with DAP and Luxury Pack (inc sunroof) comes to $54720. I got quoted about $49k one, that the best I could get them down to. So $48k-$49k seems about right for the Sportline you want.

I just couldnt bring myself to buy one of these things without the digital display :-P

For me it’s the 162TSI motor, ACC x2 and the paddle shifters. Plus upgraded headlights look so much better. I’m not paying a heap of money for extras that I don’t really need like leather seats and a body kit.

I like the active display but I’m not fussed if I don’t get it. The problem is it’s bundled with Adaptive Cruise which I say is an essential these days.

Thanks. Delivery won't be for a couple of weeks at least. Car has to get transported to the dealer and tint applied. Plus I have to sell my gen1 Tig first too

Yep got a tigger here as well today. And seems a day for nice round numbers.

Got a fully loaded indium grey 162, with slimlines for $57k. Pickup next week!

Anything interesting in your contract, any handy changes you were able to get Tigger/others? First time buying a new car.

Think they’ve just repriced their existing fully loaded Tiguan listings from 59,490 up to 62,990. First time I’ve seen a re-price in the upwards direction.
