    hence why I'd rather get a factory fitted one (albeit having to drop the trousers and bend over the barrel for the privilege) than the risks of getting someone to cut/fit one later

    Oh and whilst on the subject of towbars, I too would prefer the swivelly thing plus trailer assist which we don't get too

    I guess this is subjective. For me, some cars look great with tow bars. It’s as if the tow bar was considered in the design of the car. Not only is it functional it is aesthetically pleasing. Cutting into the bumper seems like an afterthought, and to me it looks a bit rough.

    Why is that a big deal, I'm curious? It's just bit of bumper underlay. I do agree on the swivel towbar though, I was also hoping for this. When I asked why we not getting it here, dealer basically said its to do with the safety standards.... Pffffffffff load of garbage IMO.

    Door still plates come standard on the R-line and I'm pretty sure floor mats will come standard on some models. I was told they come with the highline r-line we ordered

    Looking in the accessories brochure you can see the small cutaway in the lower section



    Prefer VW to do the cut myself than someone else if fitting one later

    I've been pestering my dealer for this info too. Towbar kit I've got a quote for $1890. Was advised that it involved cutting part of the body, so thought I'd pass for now
