Quick question guys, I have an alltrack running std 19's right now but would like a more comfortable ride and having a hard time choosing. I have found that the VMR 710's 18" with et of 35 will bolt up and be a perfect fit. The question now is tyres currently have 245x19 and wanting to go to say 235x50x18 that would give me an extra 2% wheel diameter. Would this affect the 4 motion in anyway clearance shouldn't be an issue. I could go with 245x45x18 and have the same sidewall but trying for a touch more sidewall if possible.

I know this is the Tig thread but more tyre guys on this one

i have a URGENT question

i want new summerwheels on my Tiguan R line

wil this settup fit ? i want the wheels as wide as my wheelbow (not stickout) if you now what i meane

20 inch 10 wide ET 30 all 4 the wheels

somwone got this setup and a picture?????

This comparison was done a couple of pages back - 20 x 9.5 ET35 compared to Suzuka (20x8.5 ET38 ):

If you're looking at going 20 x 10 + 30 then this is 12.5mm (0.5") wider again and 5mm more aggressive in offset. You'll get inner clearance similar the the above 20 x 9.5, however you'll have 27.1mm more poke than the stock Suzuka wheel (assuming that's what you're running). You just need to get a measuring tape and and measure from your wheel to the arch to find out how much space you currently have and then choose a wheel width/offset that fills the gap.

If you have another stock wheel (other than Suzuka) which may be the case on other countries then you'll need to get the size of your wheel and put it into an online calculator - Will they Fit - The Wheel Fitment, Tyre Stretch, Rolling Radius and Speedometer Error Calculator

hey, i am running now on 19 INCH ET 38 8.5 WIDE WITH 245/45/19

but i want a set in 20 inch 8.5 ET35 wich tyre would you recommend???

225/30/20? 235/30/20? 235/35/20???

Just fitted some older Tiguan wheels (16" alloys) to my Mk2 and fitted them with some A/T tyres (225/70R16); ride is more compliant although road noise is now more perceptible.

I now feel confident in driving on gravel (and worse) roads and carrying a full-sized spare (one of the original 17" with road tyres). Off to the Walky 100 rally next weekend so see how they go!
