The retailers of crap called it a stunt to defend their high margin, low quality sales tactics online, but I wouldn't skimp on the wheel front. Just keep it 'stock' until you have a bit more in the budget.



I can't recall who it was in the Tig thread concerned about MY18 v MY19 and resale values, but one way to destroy the resale is running one on cheap wheels.

Agree, some rims are very thin and I question if it’s durable enough?

On the cheap end no.. although I guess pottering around the 'burbs does de-risk the situation, but even then one bad council approved pothole will potentially bring tears.

Even the highest end wheel can give in the right circumstances, but something like the BBS SX is going to be a nice mid-point between rubbish and elite.

I’m thinking about changing the brake calipers only, is the brake pad reusable or gotta change both?

What’s estimated cost to replace all 4 brake calipers/pads to Brembo?

Stick to the wheels and caliper paint, you'll be ahead on the budget still.

The best I could do for a Tiguan BBK was a picture of a Tiguan on a hoist behind a Golf fitted with one.



In all seriousness Harding had a Mk1 Tiguan up to stage 3+ from memory that was lapping decently on a Porsche track day so I am guessing it would have been wearing a very good set-up.

But $$$.
