New member here, just ordered mine, and was told that there will be delays of delivery due to that Stink Bug.
Silly question, (since I'm new), if the car has been ordered today, what would be the build date?

Ok, a fully loaded 162TSI Highline should be plenty of stock available but it depends if your dealer has it in stock or can release one from another dealer. If none available in country then it has to be built and shipped to Oz. Turnaround time is 2.5-3months from build to delivery.

If yr dealer is saying delivery in end of Feb (there’s no way they can predict exact date such as “25th Feb”) as there are many variables and this stink bug issues.

You can ask the dealer for the ship the car is on so you can track the shipment.

You can follow the other thread (“Australia Delivery Info”) for some shipping info.

Thank you for your input. Thats why im confused right now, as there's no VIN yet as per them. If it was just built, Im guessing that I would expect delays from them. Anyway, not in any rush, but hoping the stink bug issue would resolve soon.

If you just paid a deposit then you will need to wait a week or so before the dealer’s stock controller can track down a car for you (in country or in transit - might be the case for you & prob a 2018 build). They can supply the COMM number & VIN (if being built).

Also if you are not in a rush then might as well wait for a 2019 build car (there’s a few upgrades happening) so prob a better choice. Delivery for these will probably be mid-end of Mar at the earliest.

Yeah that’s confusing... if it’s a Nov build then the car should be on a ship already!

Got my VIN number today for Wolfsburg with sunroof. Can't seem to track the vehicle? Any tips?

Dealer said delivery would be end of Feb.

No tool to track VIN anymore. You will need the dealer to tell you the ship.

If dealer says end of Feb delivery then the ship must be coming to Oz in early Feb (prob Ariana or Titania)
