I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Finally got an update from the dealer. My wolfie is on the Morning Composer and its eta is 29/01.

Orpheus would you able to check its current location?

Certainly.

It’s camping out in SG area for the last 6 days. No info on its next destination though [emoji33]. Maybe it’s being heat treated (although it’s moored in the water and not at the docks).

Tulane is due to berth into Freo today in the next few hours. Apparently it went to SG for heat treatment so we will find out if it resolved the bugs issue....[emoji1695]

Progress.

Titania is still just floating around Derban doing sweet **** all with no information coming out of VW as to any delay. Last update was still an end of Jan delivery. I'm away with work for most of Feb and March. So it's going to be interesting.

Yeah VW have definitely been slack and know jack all on status of the shipments. As a big customer of Wallenius, they should and prob have more info but are not telling us due to fear of us making some noise. I called up Wallenius and they couldn’t disclose any info to me because I am not the direct customer.

Luckily, I have a friend (in the ship business) who has a friend that works for Wallenius and have been great with feeding us info on the ship status....

Hmm, this so called heat treatment (according to the newsletter) does not involve any chemicals....all they do is air dry the cars in the SG heat hoping the bugs will simply die??? Doesn’t sound convincing to me but hey it might work....

Thalatta is due to dock in Melb/Syd in first week of Feb so delivery 1-1.5 weeks after that.

Titania is stuck in SA and I think it’s waiting for the outcomes of the other 2 ships (Tulane & Thalatta with heat treatment) will resolve the issue before they decide on next steps. In any case it will be at least a 1 months or maybe 2 months delay.

If only my car was on the earlier ship (Oberon) which sailed a week earlier then I would have received my car this week already (same as Cal16v)....[emoji37]

Btw, I’ve also triggered plan B, C & D at getting an alternative car (RAV4, Tuscon, CRV, CX5, etc). Doing test drives again.

I really want the new Evoque (but the wife disapproves [emoji36])

The Evoque is awesome & even more high tech than the Tiggies. Looking at $80k with some nice options [emoji3]. Base price is $64k + ORC....

I will stick to the Tiguan, I ordered this car because it will be our daily and easy to park anywhere and is for the wife and baby so they will trash it lol.

Don't want anything fancy because it will park on the street too.

I order C63S estate facelift coming in June, that's the whole reason I get her own car so she don't need to drive my car haha.

I'm think to PPF the full front kit and ceramic coating the Tiguan.

Do ceramic coating stone chips resistance ?

almost $2000 to have both but just ceramic coating $795
