Thanks all, for update on colours/R spec info.

Love the R line black interior/steering wheel as the main thing. I can always get rims myself. But the steering wheel is pretty tasty and I'm not going to change the interior trim ever.

I did drive the 140 TDI but it was not as brisk compared to the 132TSI so I imagine the 162 will be heaps of fun.

Our car is 162 non r line with roof and dap in Orange. Ordered on August 30 and previously told that shipment from Germany should be around Dec 1. With all the shipment news and confirmations on here today I'll need to follow up the dealer on Monday.

I picked up my White R Line yesterday and am pretty happy with it. Need to find someone to tune this engine though.

gather your white R line is a diesel, right?

R-line is available in pure white, tungsten silver, indium grey and deep black pearl. So shades of grey only - no orange, blue or red.

Car looks way better in R-line trim, but understand not wanting a 7 month wait on a car. There are diesel R-lines available... even a couple showing on carsales at NSW dealers.

The wait time is an absolute joke. Was reading in some European forums, there are people who ordered in July with still no build date confirmed. Fits in with their slogan though "easy to forget it's a family car". Yeah when you have to wait 7 months for it.

I can't even see an R-Line in WA and I would like to see one before putting a deposit down because it's not exactly pocket change.

Here's the full text of the delay bulletin anyhow if people are interested...

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the high demand of the R-Line package on Tiguan 162TSI Highline and 140TDI Highline globally, we are unfortunately experiencing delivery delays.

Expected delivery of current orders that have not yet been scheduled ranges from February to May 2017, with new orders likely not to be delivered prior to May 2017.

We are working closely with the factory to increase the R-Line package production quota in order to speed up delivery.

To manage expectations, customers with an existing Tiguan R-Line order and new customers that order a Tiguan R-Line will receive a 'Thank You' letter and model Tiguan in appreciation of their order. Customers will also receive a follow-up call to confirm receipt of the gift. Every 4 to 6 weeks customers will receive an update on the progress of their vehicles build with surprise moments to maintain interest and excitement.

We sincerely apologise for this delay and any inconvenience this may cause.

Nah, no sunroof. DAP is the only option I got. It's the TDI; drives pretty good. The diesel is pretty pokey and the ride is comfortable and quiet. I have a MK7 golf R as well and although they are not in the same league in terms of handling you can tell they are related if you know what I mean. It's easily bigger than the golf too, though doesn't feel like it when you drive it.

Front or back? Front seats are a bit firm but pretty comfy with plenty of adjustment and has saveable settings for different drivers. Rear seats are pretty similar feel and can adjust for more leg room or more space. You could fit 3 adults in the back as long as they weren't professional wrestlers...
