I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Update on the delivery of my Tiguan... so I head into the dealership this morning asking them about the delivery date of the car that I ordered in July and what it's status was. After telling me at the start of November that it was tracking for a Feb/Mar delivery it moved to May at the beginning of this month and they told me that all H/Line 162s have been delayed. I originally ordered a R-Line with DAP and sunroof in black which cost me $59600. After seeing a white R-Line on the showroom floor my wife told me to go for the white. Had a chat to the sales manager and decided to change to white, thinking that there would be only a 700 credit my way due to not paying for the metallic paint. After sitting down and drawing up contracts, I went for a white 162TSI H/Line with R-Line pack, DAP and sunroof and also added the load sill plate protector (sits on the rear bumper bar to protect scratches) as well as a boot liner.

To cut a long story short the sales manager returned with the figure of $56500. I didn't say a word and signed on the dotted line. Car is still due in May, but now I have saved 3k! All cause the missus liked the car in white.

I know there is a web site to check when your car is expected to be delivered using a known VIN number.

Is there a web site that you can enter the Factory Order number to see when it is scheduled to be built?

The only way is to contact your dealership and get them to give you a printout of their NADCON screen.

Do you have a print out of this quote. My dealer called me back today and said $59,400. I told him that's not what you stated verbally when we spoke. He said that's a price drop from the drive away price of $66k. I said well isn't that a lie VW.com.au have build your own Tiguan and fully spec'd is only $62,249k drive away MRDP.

Went to the local dealership in Canberra to get a quote for 110TDI comfortline/both packs/metallic pain, got $52250... do you guys think it's possible to get better deal? Also asked them for trade-in for 2011 T31 diesel xtrail and the answer was $10K... not even funny.

Hi Guys, Ive just joined the forum today! My wife and I are about to go to the Perth VW dealerships to get a sharp price on the same configuration:

WA - Perth
162 TSI $53,447
Pure White
DAP $2,000
R Line $4,000
Pano Roof. $2,000

Total $61,447

Price difference of two dealers was ($499) $53,447 - $53,946. I assume one may be for just 3 months rego and the other for 6mths?

If you have a copy of that quote for $56,500!!! I would been keen as mustard to PM

Quick quesion - that semi personalised link you get from VW with the 4 stages of delivery (building shipping etc) you. Should mine not be showing by now if delivery is expected mid Jan? Dealer is receiving on the 9th and will try to expedite delivery given we are on a road trip. We did have to upgrade for the privilege though.

I am happy for you to use my name as a contact reference. I understand these car brokers deal Australia wide so I will give you both company’s details. Also they can only present what they are offered from the dealers they put the tender to, so every “deal” is independent of previous deals.

I went with Lloyd because he came in the cheapest. I was also able to "knock an extra $104 off as I went with standard plates and not Premium plates. I did this because I already have a set of personalised plates that I will be "swapping" after taking delivery.

Also with regard to your X-Trail, if you can afford to buy the Tiguan before you sell the X Trail, selling it privately will be your best option.

If not, then I suggest you explain to both brokers that you are looking for the cheapest changeover price giving them all the needed details of your XTrail.

I think you will be plesantly surpised.

To give you a guide, the 162 TSI in my signature will cost me $51,783 drive away in NSW. My previous details can be found on page 48 of this thread.

Ask your dealer for the VIN number of your car and you can track it yourself. More reliable than a meaningless generated email from VW.
