    Shane.
Take it to a good tinter and it'll be safe. It just means they have to wash the rear window delicately, not rough with steal wool. Tinter i used said it took him an extra half hour, but done right and done safely.

    • Loving my 132 Comfortline so far, best way to describe it is that it's an extremely relaxing drive.

Park Assist and Adaptive Cruise are both awesome features

A question on Lane Assist to those who've tried it out on their new Tiguan.

Do you find that it doesn't keep you in the middle of your lane but only corrects as the car gets close to the lane marking? So basically it sways from left to right most of the time, alternating between either edge of the lane. Rather disconcerting and maybe it's more a safety feature than a true driverless experience when used in conjunction with ACC.

Also, anyone find their front wipers a bit too "sticky" and sometimes stuttering across the windscreen, especially in light rain?

Lane assist isn't quite autonomous driving. It's not designed to keep you in the centre of the road, more alert and assist you if you're exiting the lane without controlling it.

From VW: "Lane Assist is a lane departure warning system that is designed to help reduce the likelihood of the vehicle leaving the road or crossing into an oncoming lane and therefore the risk of accident as a result of driver distraction or a lapse in concentration."

And YES about the wipers. i'm just assuming they'll wear a little and will be ok, but its almost as if they are too good haha

Thanks for that - yes, I did a bit more reading of the manual & online, it looks like the "feature" we are missing locally (yet another one, sigh) is "Adaptive Lane Guidance" which apparently will learn your driving preference and keep you in the middle of the lane. However, it will still start warning you after 12 secs if your hands are not on the steering wheel.

On an unrelated note, has anyone found a good way to stow the rear parcel shelf after its been removed? I tried fitting either on top of the boot floor or under it, but couldn't quite get it to fit.....

          • Ordered Highline petrol with DAP and Sunroof in 'unusually bright' colour of wife's choice

Sydney dealer said its going to be January/Feb

but other dealer said all VW dealer will only have highline in around March/April.

            Which is correct?

On another forum I read that the delay to March/April will apply only to those who got R-Line addon for the Highline

            • Just go with what your dealer has said. Most of the speculation of delay has been around the R-Line.

              • My dealer rang me yesterday and advised that my Highline162 , R-Line, Driver Assist, Sunroof, Metallic will land at Port Kembla 15 December. I looked up the VIN he supplied on Wallenius Wilhelmson's site and it confirmed it is onboard the 'Toscana' which is just off the coast of Portugal right now. The 2016 build is an issue because pickup will be early Jan 17, not sure how I feel about that.

Awesome! when did you order yours?

Who cares if its MY16, there'd be plenty of people willing to take your car if you'd rather wait for a MY17 vehicle

                              • My wife called my dealer today and ask for VIN number of Tiguan which was ordered on 24 of Sep. The dealer said he did not have VIN number yet until the car is here. Is this reasonable answer? Can anyone help please? Whereas everyone already had there VIN number and can be tracked and in my case it totally diferrent.
