  • Hi all.

One of the main selling points for me is the absolutely fantastic digital drivers display. I have always had a soft spot for technilogy.

If you look at the bottom of my post you will see that I am using the most dangerous mobile in use today. The very notorious Samsung Galaxy Note 7. 😁😎

Interesting. I try to post this comment and I get a response from Taptalk telling me it is too short and have to add more text. ??????
Ordered: 2017 build date Tiguan 162 TSI Highline with DAP in Tungsten Silver and rear luggage tray. ETA: late April / Early May. I did not have to wait. I took delivery on 11 March 2017.

    • I've been driving my Comfortline Petrol (132) for a week. It's fine, nicely put together and drives well. Open road I use sports mode. I have the driver assist pack and I think it would be a waste not to spend the extra for it. I twisted an arm or two and I got a pretty good price - effectively the DA pack for free.

One mind boggling issue. I cannot buy the as-fitted Michelins in Australia. I've contacted VW and Michelin. So far the response has been underwhelming to say the least. I will advise the forum when I get a final answer.

Weird they'd use different tyres for the same models/options.

Also, i got the boot to work... lets just call it user error hahaha

            • Awesome, might be worth mentioning what did the trick, assuming it wasn't too embarrassing 😂

Haha I did laugh at this one.

Can we tune these things? I waited for 3 years almost in my R.. not doing that again!

                • I picked up my Tiguan Comfortline 132TSI 2 weeks ago and it is a fantastic car. Love the build quality and the drive.

Got a call from my dealer today and they have told me they have been told by Volkswagen there is a problem with some vehicles and mine is one of them. They are picking it up from me on Monday to replace the rear glass.
                  Anyone heard of any issues?

                  • I think it has to do with the rear demister wires. A bulletin was sent out to a lot of detailers/tinters warning them as even light scrubbing could wipe off the lines causing it to fail. Plus its used for reception of GPS etc too.

Going to be annoyed if mines on the list as it has tint on it now. :/

                    • Hi all

I've put an order in earlier this week for a 162TSI Highline, went with:

                      - Deep pearlescent black
                      - R-Line package
                      - Driver Assistance Package
                      - Sunroof

Have been quoted March '17 delivery. A couple more months to enjoy the Mk6 GTI. Will be sad to see that car go but really looking forward to enjoying the new Tiguan.

                      • For those uncertain about splashing out for the $2k DAP option, I'd say absolutely do it if funds permit.

I'm saying that purely for the Adaptive Cruise, which is awesome and fully realises the potential of cruise control. It even brakes to a complete standstill and take off again (within 3 secs of stopping, otherwise just a press of a button or accelerator to resume).

Just treat the active info display as the icing on the cake

Yeah, I agree with this. It's going to make my daily commute a lot better!

                          • Can I add my absolute praise for this feature. We took 3 test drives yesterday. Passat 206 tsi r line, Tiguan 140 tdi r line, and Tiguan 132 tsi with DAP. The DAP feature on the Tiguan matched the Passat 206 in how it automatically slowed down and accelerated again to keep pace with the car ahead. It was absolutely fantastic. It blew me away. The DAP option is a must for all Tiguans.

                            • The 140 tdi highline just was not in the race. If it came with DAP then yes. I just say this because you don't have to take a highline just to get the feature, like the r line package.

Yeah I'm interested to find out when we'll be able to tint safely. We should get our Tiguan in 2 weeks (trading my 'Roc) and I'd like to get sides and rear window done.

                                Thanks,
