That's awesome. I really hope that dealers will have some in-stock then for test-drives. I also hope that the media get access to them to write some reviews on the 162TSI.

That sounds like its on the Don Juan which has just left Bremerhaven today. Currently on its way to Zeebrugge in Belgium then Cape Town. Due according to the Wallenuis schedule to arrive Melbourne Jan 8th.

I would like to believe that, but I seriously doubt there will be any 162 TSI R-Lines coming off at Freo in December.

A WA dealer I know had orders in NADCON for 162 TSI R-lines as soon as they were available to order. The earliest build date back then was Jan 2017. With R-Line package production at 100% capacity and delays due to that, the same dealer showed me in NADCON just this weekend gone the 162 TSI R-lines (that they've ordered at least) are scheduled to land end of March, and will probably be April before they get to the showroom.

I received an email from VW today saying my 162 R- line has been built, but nothing about shipping yet.

My car is an 162 Rline and I have VIN and the car was built on 17 nov as per dealer- just waiting to be shipped

Well my theory on the 6 December R-Lines is as follows. My dealer contacted me and said my 162 R-Line was onboard the Toscana now and due at Port Kembla on 15 December. He read the VIN to me off NADCON whilst I was on the phone. [WVGZZZ5NZHW850707]
I checked the VIN against Wallenius Whilhelmson and it showed up as onboard along with 327 other VW's. The order got messed up and Drivers Assist and Sunroof were not optioned so I cancelled the order. I guess if someone can decode that VIN into more detail then that may confirm whether or not the 162's are on that ship or not.

My Highline (not R-Line) is due in NSW on 27th Dec. Currently nearing South Africa. Gladbach and i purchased from the same dealer, within a few days of each other and yet his R-Line is yet to be built. Surely that suggests we're unlikely to see any R-Lines here for a while yet.

The built date of my 162kw R-line was 2016-10-18, and date of delivery (New Zealand) was scheduled at December 22nd.
The ship however is scheduled to arrive on the 15th of December, and I may even go have a look at Santa Claus' sleigh being unloaded.

My R-line is on the same ship, build date 2016-10-15. I think you may have to get there early if you want to see Santa's sleigh unloaded. The vessel docks at 00:00 on the 15th December and leaves again at 12:00. Checked AKL's port arrivals

I have been waiting for a few months and I still don't get it. I hate buying new cars, they cost money and become worthless and I have to be backed into a corner to do it and that happened a few months ago. i detest the instant devaluation, the BS that surrounds the process etc. I have had two stand up arguments with sales stuff and one other I declined to do business with as he would not give me a price on the phone, he wanted me in the dealership to try his psycho babble on me. I wish I had thought of going through a broker but I didn't and that's life. I doubt I will buy another but if I do it will be through a broker. I used to work in the industry and at one time was on the wholesale end of it selling to dealers so I guess that is where it comes from.
