I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

Hi all, I also recently got the IM BUILT email from VW Aust but have not heard anything further since. Have chased up a VIN with the dealer but yet to get those details. I received my built email on 8 April, so close to a month ago now. Is it likely mine might have already boarded a vessel to Aust in that timeframe? Cheers

Waiting on a loaded Black 162tsi RLine. Any photos of the same setup from
others most welcome to help me pass the time [emoji120].

Must say, I'm not the most active contributor on here, but definitely noticing the forum get quieter and quieter as everyone is starting to receive their new cars. Jealousy setting in at my end [emoji23]

Update: originally I was told 8 August delivery date but now estimated delivery is 15 July which I'm very pleased about!!!

Did a little research through old posts last night and the VIN availability can lag behind the email by a couple of days/week. Considering we're all in the same situation nothing to be worried about, just need to sit back and sit out the wait. I did see one of the guys car was on a boat within 2 weeks of receiving the email earlier this year while another were up to a month (over Christmas though). Reckon the VINs will pretty much all become available at once, so hopefully any day now.

The initial date was an estimate based on current production times and shipping, looks like it rolled off early to make a quicker ship - I'm just going to take the win!

Same. Ordered New Year's Eve, built email arrived 25/4 and the dealer knows next to nothing other than saying probable mid/early July delivery, after being told April when we ordered the car. I certainly appreciate all the info everyone else has been sharing here.

I can't be sure, but it's very unlikely that the car will be on a ship before the dealer can give you a VIN. Once the car is built and pretty much ready to leave the factory (handed over to sales), the VIN is entered into NADCON. It's from there that the dealer can check the system and advise you of the VIN. The car is booked onto the ship using the VIN as the cargo ID, then it's railed to Bremerhaven, waits in a holding area and then loaded onto the ship.

Once you receive your VIN and start tracking then obviously you'll be able to work out what ship your car is on. The tracking details aren't always up to date, so sometimes, as was the case with mine, the ship may have actually sailed before you discover with much delight that your car is on the ship

Thanks all! Sounds like we're all in the same boat then - literally. Handy insights from everyone, thanks heaps. Will sit tight and wait for the VIN. Early July was my delivery estimate as well, which is great. I ordered mid Feb so the turnaround for me has probably been more psychologically manageable than for some of the others here. Cheers
