If you take a gander through this thread, there’s a few people who’ve removed the mount and capped the holes. Go for the look you like, the rest can be figured out!

Another positive review from me on Lakin plates. I purchased the undrilled euro plates, and used a drill press (measure thrice) to punch out the main holes, and then large sized bits to countersink[ATTACH=CONFIG]51089[/ATTACH]

attachments don't seem to be working.
how long was the lead time on the lakin mount? did you have to provide measurements or had he already done something for euro plates on a tig?

Yes Lakin plates get a good wrap from almost everyone.

Yeah Euro plates do look good, however over here they are an annual fee so it's a bit of a revenue raiser.

i'd say custom plates in general are a bit of a revenue raiser.

i believe we've got it pretty good down here in VIC compared to other states, but it's certainly not cheap (for the good styles anyway)

Nice work. There's quite a few different options for filling / covering the holes left and you're found a few different ones. I think the solution you have at the moment isn't bad and for $4 plus some touch-up paint who's arguing. Massive improvement. To do it "properly" you'd fill the holes and then respray the bumper but probably not worth it unless you were fixing up a bunch of stone chips at the same time.

How much effort is it to fill (do they just use bog ?) and sand prior to painting ?

Why dont you just ask him If you get in before he paints it and chuck him a slab it will probably get done.. We can say its no trouble at all but hes doing the job and may have a different idea

Maybe a dumb Q (hey I am not a panel beater) but if they use bog to fill the hole, whats to stop the bog from falling out after its dried ?

From the vehicles I’ve seen reviewers using the car has lost the ugly black plastic number plate holder on the front, and the area on the bumper seems quite small. Maybe even smaller than a full Euro plate?
