MY18.5 or MY19 - Difference ? Should I Wait ?

This can be enabled on the MY17 and later just a coding change, I had it turned on in mine for a while but found it a bit pointless.

What it does is when you turn the car off it slides the drivers seat all the way back then when you get back in and start the car it returns the seat to the saved position. Would probably be more beneficial if you were shorter and sat close to the steering wheel but I’m 6 foot and have the seat pretty far back so didn’t make much difference. I also found it didn’t always return the seat forward so I would have to push the button on the side of the seat for it to return, when I looked at the diags to see why it looks like it the battery voltage drops too low when car if off then this doesn’t automatically work.

I resisted temptation to enable it because I didn’t want my kids getting trapped or bunched up behind my seat. 🤣

Now that we have folks collecting their Wolfsburg, does anyone know when they are collecting their MY19 Tiguans?

my dealer told me sometime late Oct to early Nov, but wouldnt provide me with VIN etc etc. Should I press for more details?

my MY19 tiguan is on a boat landing in Sydney on October 23rd. I envisage another 5-10 days to clear customs and get to dealer so looking at early Nov pickup (fingers crossed no later. Baby otw mid Dec and want to play with the car before then!)

Vessel name is Asian Vision

I'd be surprised if the recent Wolfy delivery didnt include some MY19 Tigs as well? can anyone confirm?

you can definitely press the dealer for the VIN and/or vessel name

Wow - No Diesel Tiguan models any more and only 2 Petrol models for the Tiguan for MY19

I guess the good news is I don't see any mention of a Petrol equivalent of a DPF filter

I can confirm that MY19s arrived with the Wolfsburgs,
I had ordered a Wolfsburg grey with sunroof and was informed they will not arrive until next year.
They offered me a white with sunroof or a black with sunroof available early December at the latest.

I changed my order to a fully optioned highline indium grey. I pick it up tomorrow.

I’m curious as to whether dynamic light assist (auto high beam etc) comes with the MY19 models. The August announcements for updates to MY19 models on caradvice etc suggests yes, however it’s not on the PDF.

Does anyone know, perhaps from looking at the Wolfsburgs?

This is listed in the pdf

Nope..

Auto lights = automatically turn on at night

Dynamic lighting = moves light direction in corners.

It's a shame the Tig doesn't have the same lights as the Golf R that block out oncoming traffic on high beam.

HBA (high beam assist) is too much effort for little return IMO

Visited a dealer today, can confirm they have MY19 Tiguans in stock, with August 2018 build - same as the Wolfsburg.




Also recieved the flyer below from the dealer, which does show Dynamic LED headlights as one of the features of the MY19 lineup.
