MY18.5 or MY19 - Difference ? Should I Wait ?

Hi team - I’ve just received two different quotes for a MY19 Tiguan 162 (w/ sound and vision pack and r-line) and the new Tiguan Wolfsburg. The price difference is $2,600.

To my mind the additions for that amount are:
-Heads up display
-Black exterior trim enhancements
-90% rear window tint

Does anyone reckon those extra items are worth 2.6k? Doesn’t sound like it?

Not worth the $2.6k in my view especially as the HUD are a gimmick in the VW one that's offered with the plastic pop-up

Hi all - I see MY19 models are quoted as coming with ‘ambient interior lighting’ - does anybody know/think this will be the multi-coloured lighting options of other models or the same single LED blue lights as in the previous MYs?

I believe the ambient lighting is set to the one colour.

White - Highline Tiguan
Red - GTI
Blue - Golf R

I was hoping this would be changeable but now that I have an R I'm glad it's unique.

FYI. The Wolfsburg profile is now in the VW Aust order books. Just as previously posted no sunroof available on any of the 1st 500 MY19 Wolfsburgs. Got my contract updated and was advised that delivery will be end Oct early Nov. They await allocation to confirm colour choice. Thanks to the Taps for keeping all well informed. In my negotiations I have had the knowledge the dealer didn't.

From what I saw, the dealers have their allocations including colours. One dealer showed me the email on the screen.

In civilization I expect that is so. I am in the west so we get the dregs of everything - I am telling the dealer stuff the dealer should be telling me. It could be they are doing the old allocation shuffle.

I hope they stick to black for the Wolfsburg edition otherwise the silver is going to look a bit out of place!

Good catch. I prefer the black diffuser too. My order is expected to arrive at the docks today 13/10. Hopefully we see official pics soon.

Interesting - I don’t see any suggestion on the equipment lists for front passenger electric seat nor heated outer rear seats - something everyone was expecting in the MY19 update to reflect what was on the Allspace. Thoughts?

I saw the dealer presentation pack on the MY19 during the week, and it lists the electric passenger seat.

Pretty sure the rear seats are not heated though.

Finally, good to see the MY19 there. However they no longer provide drive away pricing, just "Contact a Dealer".

I believe ORC is usually $6,000. But ofcourse there is room for bargaining there.

This can be enabled on the MY17 and later just a coding change, I had it turned on in mine for a while but found it a bit pointless.

What it does is when you turn the car off it slides the drivers seat all the way back then when you get back in and start the car it returns the seat to the saved position. Would probably be more beneficial if you were shorter and sat close to the steering wheel but I’m 6 foot and have the seat pretty far back so didn’t make much difference. I also found it didn’t always return the seat forward so I would have to push the button on the side of the seat for it to return, when I looked at the diags to see why it looks like it the battery voltage drops too low when car if off then this doesn’t automatically work.
