    MY19 VW Tiguan 162TSI

MY19 Tiguan has been upgraded 'as standard' with the addition of:

    • Driver Assistance Package (DAP)
    • Adaptive Chassis Control
    • 19” alloys

    Additional Tiguan (NWB) MY19 specification:

    • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
    • Lane Assist with Adaptive Lane Guidance
    • Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist
    • Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert
    • Electrically adjustable passenger seat with memory
    • 19” Auckland Alloy wheels - previously 18’s on MY19
    • Adaptive Chassis Control
Wow, good work VW. I assume that DAP doesn't come with Active info display, given past posts??
Love the addition of the Electric pax seat! Thx FastMitch

Well that's a lot more high-end features included as standard, especially the adaptive chassis control! My guess is that they are going to increase the base price of the Highline?? ...won't be much left in R-Line pack, aside from cosmetic enhancements, unless they add something new. I really want the "active info display" from the DAP, so I'm hoping that they have not pushed up the base and pack prices.

I've already ordered one with DAP that is supposedly on a ship, so I'm not keen on having to re-negotiate everything.

This makes sense - there were a lot of people wanting the Highline + DAP, but the wait time was long as dealers weren't bringing in much stock of this config - most people were going fully loaded.

Making the base config inclusive of DAP means people should be able to grab a standard Highline more easily.

Except that the big selling point for DAP, Active Info Display, is not included as standard in MY19, it's reportedly now part of the "Sound & Vision" pack.

That's correct. The Active Info Display is not included as standard but comes with the Sound and Vision Pack

            • With most of the DAP Pack becoming standard in the Tiguan Highline, does that mean VW is becoming more competitve or are they about to increase the price of the MY19 Tiguan Highline ?

The only thing that looks new to me is the "Electrically adjustable passenger seat with memory" in the standard list

Now if only they would add wireless charging I would have nothing left on my wish list

Question is will the MY19 Highline + Sound & Vision + Rline be more expensive than the MY18 Highline + DAP + Rline ??

Main difference I see between the 2 is better sounds system and electric passenger seat

Did your dealer give any clues regarding price? My guess is that R-line will have to include something new otherwise it's mostly cosmetic trim in MY19.

                • Generally VW will continue to load up features into the car each year and keep pricing around the same.

I think they realise that for cars over $50k they really should have the driver assist features as standard. Particularly when other manufacturers put them into sub $30k cars as standard equipment.

Wireless charging has been pulled from production for all markets due to technical issues.

                    • Is it likely that a June build will be MY19 or still MY18.5?

if the answer to this is MY19, i wonder if i can ask the dealer to get the sound and vision pack added haha

My thought as well. They say you can order a Highline + DAP + Rline and recieve an MY19

But this does not make sense as the 'Active Info Display' is only in the Sound & Vision pack

Question is what will be left in the R-line pack if the adaptive suspension is provided as standard on the Highline ?

This sounds like a mess. VW should just publish the MY19 specs so people can be clear on what they are getting

Maybe the MY19 Tiguan will match the options list as per the Allspace https://www.volkswagen.com.au/conten...eet_June18.pdf

Well, if what people are reporting here is accurate, then MY19 will indeed match the Allspace spec and packages. In that case R-Line pack is just cosmetic enhancements.

VW certainly won’t want publish MY19 specs now, lest it kills the value of existing stock.

Some good stuff included as standard if it is MY19. However, it’s going to be a pain having to renegotiate in order to get Active Info Display and 360 camera view. For example, when you say “I ordered DAP”, dealer will likely say “Yes, DAP is now included as standard with Highline.”, and so on. DAP was a $2k package, whereas SAV is likely to be $3k.

The colours are also somewhat different going by Allspace - the colour you ordered based on MY18.5 doesn’t exist in MY19

I spoke to another dealer today and they won't give any MY19 prices. Not even an indicative price.

What they say is they are happy to place an order for an MY19 and reserve the delivery date, take your deposit and when they know the price, if I don't like the price I can cancel the order and get my deposit back.

Does not sound right as the new sales car contracts have clauses that do not allow a buyer to cancel without a penalty.

Seems like VW have been dodgy about all this so as to not stop sales of existing MY18.5 Tiguans.
