Another service and another issue arises (2024 service was the air conditioning).
Put the 2020 T-ROC 140Tsi Sport in for it's 5 years service on 4th September and all went well and just asked that the DSG be checked as it had got itself into I don't know what gear I should be in (my fix when it happened was turn off the car and wait a couple of minutes then fire it up again and all good) ...... collected the car although 3 hours after requested & promised time.
The following morning went for a coffee and so shopping ..... unlock the car and when I go to start it = NOTHING ..... Message to move the Steering Wheel ...... hit start button & nothing. Call dealer workshop they put me onto VW Roadside Assist - a 1.5 hr wait (lucky it was only a 10 minute walk home & back) ..... checks battery and try to jump start = NOTHING still and finally confirms it has to be towed so I sort this with Roadside Assist - another hour. Let the dealership know when it's on the truck back to them. They confirm when it arrives to the surprise of the workshop crew who remembered it from day before.
Monday they run diagnostics and put files together to send to Sydney who advise it's the ...... gets confusing here as both the Electronic Steering Column Lock Module AND Steering Column Control Unit are mentioned. Anyway on 9th September they order 1 of the parts which will take 14 days from Germany ...... arrives @ dealer on 26th and they go to fit it so I can get the car back today 29th. Get an email from them "The WRONG part was ordered" and they have to order the correct one from Singapore = I expect this delay return of the car by a further 2 or 3 weeks (on top of the 3 weeks so far) based on a neighbors' experience with a part from Singapore.
Not sure if others have experienced this issue with the Electronic Steering Wheel Lock or Control Unit and would be interested if any one has.
