  • GOlf MK7 Seat Airbag Connector

Hey, Just wanting to ask if anyone knows if the MK7 Golf GTI/R has the same connector as the MK6.
Got my hands on some Recaro Sportster CS with side airbag off a MK6, all I can confirm is that the rails are compatible but no information about the airbag connector.

If they are different, would changing the harness/wire over would be an option.

wasabiz: Not sure that we are talking about the same thing, but if you are referring to the "seat occupied sensor" which both the mk6 and the mk7 call G128, then the answer is YES!

Here's a drawing of where it is on a mk7 (it's the bit labelled "2" in the diagram)

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

Hi Don, thanks for the response but I believe we're looking at different things haha.
I was after the yellow plug that runs in to the carpet below the seats.
      Looks like the picture below.

The easiest fix is cut theconnector off your old seat and solder it to the new seat or just buy some molex connectors from Jaycar and wire them in and do away with the VW units.

The colour coding of the wires should be the same
