Ah, I guess the LED lights do not reach the 2000 lumen threshold for requiring washers and self levelling.MY13 Golf GTI DSG (SOLD)| Candy White | 18" Detroits | Bi-Xenon Headlights | Street Guardian SG9665C

I had a look at at a Golf R Wolfsburg wagon yesterday. It has everything except sunroof, just like I need. Note I said need,,, my V6Superb wagon was struck by lightning last Friday and is officially a deceased SKODA. I am looking at the Golf and Octavia RS225 as possible replacement.Originally posted by Tinhillterror View Posthas anyone ordered the Golf R in Wagon and can share timeframes?

I get that we have the Grid while there is limited leather and interactive display, but if you want an R Wagon (with driver assist) how long are we going to be waiting? (wife wants leather/heated seats...)

I believe the LED headlights don't require washersOriginally posted by Kevlarman View PostPicked up my R the day before Australia Day and have about 300kms on the clock now. Going to drive down to Melbourne in a few weeks so I'm hoping to run the engine in before them (can't wait to use ACC).

Question: where are the headlight washers (I'm not near my vehicle right now)? On my Mk6 GTI there were very obvious rectangular "cutouts" in the bumper for the pop-up washers, but these are absent on my R. Do they pop out from the circles that look like parking sensors?

I really like the Octavias, but having experienced the wet grip of AWD in my R I couldn't go back to FWD.Originally posted by Albervin View PostI had a look at at a Golf R Wolfsburg wagon yesterday. Isn't it because of the 4motion system?Originally posted by Albervin View PostI just had a call from the dealer to say a tow bar is not listed. Why?MY13 Golf GTI DSG (SOLD)| Candy White | 18" Detroits | Bi-Xenon Headlights | Street Guardian SG9665C

Yeah they self level, but not because it's an ADR requirement for these lights.Originally posted by LAnMarc View PostThe LED lights do have self levelling though.

My dealer said he was looking at a third party supplier but I would still have factory warranty. A friend with a Ferrari went through hoops to have a tow bar fitted and Lexus flew an engineer in to work out how to fit one onto a 350F or something. Nothing is impossible.Originally posted by Tinhillterror View PostCan’t get a tow bar fitted to the Golf R or Wolfsburg due to the AWD or Exhaust (or both).

It’s confusing because it is listed in the brochure and as a part, but not an option for the AWD

If you could get it, it’d be the perfect car. I still bought one anyway.

Naturally - but why anyone would ruin a sports car with one is beyond me.Originally posted by Albervin View PostMy dealer said he was looking at a third party supplier but I would still have factory warranty. As for the Lexus, it probably improved the looks.

A Golf R on the other hand should be workable.
