Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

As a retailer myself, I can say if I were to agree with my local competition (even on a nudge nudge, wink wink arrangement) to charge a certain amount for a product, and I got caught, there would be dire consequences. Depending on the product, of course. Retailers are all supposed to be in competition, so you should definitely be worried if all prices around the place were exactly the same.

        This.

I was keen on upgrading to the 7.5 just for the tech upgrade. But I figure may as well hold out until the MK8 while I wait I may as well go stage 2/2+ or 3/3+ even *rubs dirty hands*
        Current:
        2023 Mk2 Tiguan R - Lapiz Blue
        2015 Mk7 Golf R Wolfsburg - Limestone Grey: Stage 2

        • Hi All,

I was out shopping this morning for a Tiguan R-Line for the wife and kids and while there we saw the new Mk7.5 R, it is a really nice looking car. All of the issues I had with it previously which resulted in my purchase of the S3 sedan are resolved in the Mk7.5, the larger display screen, wheels are great, and black trim around the bottom of the car all make this thing stand out. Even the blue color is now more blue compared to the previous version which had more purple in it (to my eyes anyway). Test drove both cars, and kids were comfortable in either, our eldest daughter is 5ft 10 already so was concerned about the Golf but no issues. Soooo... now the wife and kids wants the R instead of the Tiguan - less wait is a bonus however she will have the digital dash and a faster car than mine The negative would be the speeding fines I no doubt will be paying. So now just trying to get a great price on a fully loaded R.

In the photos the car hadn't had the full clean done and still had some of the shipping tape on it (apologies for the poor quality photos).

                • How can the blue be different? Hasn't it always been 'Lapiz blue'? You'd think they could keep it consistent?

                  • The colour is "Atlantic Blue" rather than Lapiz, so I was informed today.

Oh right, cheers. Interesting they've changed it - thought Lapiz would remain synonymous with the R.

                        • Hmmm recalled being shown Lapiz blue as an exclusive colour for the 7.5r though. But that was months ago and might be outdated info.

Penrith, NSW. I was told though that all dealers had received one (not sure if that was NSW only or country wide), just not sure if they have them on the floor yet or not.
