Our sources have confirmed Volkswagen will reveal a midlife facelift for its top-selling model, the Golf, at the Paris motor show on September 29 and these images first published by Dutch website Autoblog.nl could show what's in store

This is the big news for me: Under the bonnet, the current Golf's 1.5-litre (sic) four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (and the 1.6-litre turbo-diesel available in Europe) should be replaced by new 1.5-litre turbocharged TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines.

That new TSI 1.5 sounds very, very interesting.

Oh i'm glad someone did this coz I was just about to post a new thread. Looks like we'll know more in 4 weeks time... might be worth waiting for.

*If* that rendering is accurate then it's not a bad sharpen up of the front end - takes some of the more aggressive cues from the 40th but minus the (being polite here) awkwardness of it.

Maybe I haven't noticed, but did they do this many mid-year (interior & exterior) changes on past Golf GTI's (last year with CarPlay/bixenons/kessy, & now this with new front end, lights & digital dash)?

Seems they're not giving as much time in the spotlight for a certain GTI 'revision'

Do they show dealers new facelifted models a month before official reveal at a Motorshow and way before release in the local market?

I just took delivery of MY17 R. It does have a Sports Display thing with Boost/G Force and... Something else I've forgotten. Dealer also told me another difference but I remember laughing, cause it was super insignificant. Very minor - I just hope that any early gen gremlins are worked out since I'm later in the cycle.

Golf R/GTI Facelift

Hey all,

Spotted this today. Not sure how true it is but I have heard some rumors across the net and some dealers have mentioned that the new Golf Facelift (Debut in November 2016) will replace the MK8 as that would be announced sometime in 2018.

2017 Volkswagen Golf facelift to appear in November

Be eager to see one of these without camouflage. Anyone have any information on this?
