I've just checked and I am on s/w version 0616 so it looks like I'm 2 steps behind the latest and greatest. I think it's time I booked it in to fix this (plus a couple of other faults/issues).

Hii there Don. Today I had second thoughts about uninstalling the software then reinstalling as it obviously will still be afflicted with bugs and who knows what worse bugs may further surface. For a while there I was the king of wishful thinking, but decided against it and wait until the next release.

You are also are probably right about the software unable to be uninstalled. The lack of knowledge displayed by some of the service centres is amazing.

There is more info to be gained on this forum than some service centres.

So a few things I noticed over the weekend:

          1) My screen is starting to fail more frequently. 3 times in 3 days which is up from once a month. My booking can't come soon enough but then again a software update may not correct a thing....

          2) The screen is actually on; it's just not displaying anything. I could see the back light running and the touch panel is still functioning as I was able to change radio stations by pressing on the screen (literally poking around in the dark).

It is not a loose connector otherwise the old turn the car off/on 'trick' wouldn't do a thing. It's rubbish software and nothing more.

Yep. Agreed. So my latest bug is the CarPlay keeping control of the volume meaning the radio or whatever source is playing remains at a constant volume and all that can be adjusted is the voice announcement volume.

It did it 3 times in 20mins yesterday requiring disconnection of the phone and turning the unit off and on again. It was a good job I had my son in the front seat to do it for me!

This is happening to me atm but I wait about 5mins and Bluetooth, Car Info and Nav eventually loads up...

Through a process of trial and error I have turned Bluetooth music streaming off since it was making my system restart when I tried to access app connect. App-Connect is now working fine with this off but I still can't access the Media option so I am unable to play music from CD, Aux or SD card.

I'm told by my dealership that I have to be patient and wait for a software fix as there are several people with the same issues

This is going to sounds very melodramatic, but if I cannot listen to music while driving, I'll go apesh*t. It's a big deal for me. "Just wait until we get a software fix out" even though they've been aware of this issue since last year, is not an acceptable solution in my books.

I had my NCAT hearing today and an hour and ten minutes before the hearing vw sent an email to my dealer saying they have a fix for the "R" and that I will be getting it updated this Friday - how true this is and whether it works is yet to be seen..............
No solution for 6+ months and then magically a solution appears right before we go into court!
                  It's a miracle.

Hope this fix works but the cynic in me finds the timing "miraculous" indeed!

One of my main factors in buying the car was the infotainment system and app-connect so if they can't fix it and you get a positive outcome from NCAT then I may go down the same route. It's a shame as it really is a great car but I'm not willing to live with a infotainment system that doesn't work.... especially on a brand new car

Good Luck, I really hope the fix works

I'm also getting issues with my MIB2, everything takes long to load, for example if I press the CAR button the screen will say Starting "Car Information".... then takes couple mins to load, that's the same with every other button.

However with the Media button that's another story it says Starting "media".... but nothing happens, does not load, went for a hr drive was on same status.

Tried rebooting the ECU by unplugging the battery no luck, got it booked in for next Monday.
