Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I had a look at a Wolfsburg Golf R the other day and I'd have to agree with you that the fake carbon on the bolsters detracted from the interior rather than add to it.

Actually the only reason I'd look at the Wolfsburg is the rims... if they didn't paint them black

I know the marketing guys were trying to distinguish these ones from the "standard" R, however give me silver 19" Pretorias, standard mirror caps and roof rails and de-carbonise the seats and it'd be a lot nicer.

Ended up with a normal R instead of Wolfsburg for that reason alone. Would have much preferred the wheels and pearlescent white.

        Wolfie...Is it just me or?

Just on a side note - saw on the online car configurator on the VW German site that the carbon nappa seat option is 2730 euros while Vienna leather is 1730 euros.

Funny how a more expensive option has actually turned some off!

According to the manual, there's a Motorsport seat option in places other than AU too. That would have been nice to consider. Ultimately for me the Wolfie was a no-no because of the deletion of the 3rd pedal. I didn't really look at the interior after that.

            Wolfsburg Edition Golf R

Had my wagon for 8 weeks now and can't fault it, blue with roof. I'm hearing you about the carbon Napa but the grey and black 2 tone in the seats lift the cabin heaps IMO... Personal choice thou. I've wrapped my mirrors back to brushed Ali

I had those seats in my MY16 Passat R-Line, they are standard feature for that model.

                  wolfie is love!

                  Here's my baby:

I've done a heap of pretty minor things (euro plates, tint, opti-coat, blue badge skins, coloured tyre valve caps) and am looking at spraying the brake calipers, wrapping the roof and silver on the lip/grill gloss black, plus APR Stage 1 when APR sort out their Australian channels again!

Why not go Revo instead of APR?

In need of VW part #

                      Hi !

Can anyone help me with a VW part number ?
Since I live in SWEDEN my VW dealer can not see VW part #'s on parts that are specificly for Australia

I'm looking for the part # of the WOLFSBURG badge on the rear end of the VW Golf R Wolfsburg Edition ( 2015 ---> )

So you'd prefer a Wolfsburg without any of the parts which make it a Wolfsburg. I've got just the car for you. It's called a standard R with silver Pretorias

Haha good call. Personally I love the black rims. Especially on a white car. I'm considering getting mine painted black, although the machined finish with black inserts still looks nice

Hey if VWA had given an option for silver Pretorias with the same mark up the Euros get then they'd be the best OEM choice by a ridiculous margin.

The detail is too lost otherwise - although on the white Wolfsburgs I'll admit it works ok.
