Sorry if this is obvious, but what wheels are these and do you have any more pictures of them on Golfs?

Not obvious at all unfortunately, they appear to be a 10 twin/y spoke/mesh design and possibly take the VW centre cap back but in motion it's difficult to determine. On the bright side there are loads of options in that style depending on your budget.

Yeah no worries. They do look similar to a lot of wheels and in motion its hard to tell exactly what they are. I like the idea of those style of wheel, but I'm one of those people that like to pretty cars up, but keep the factory look going. It's challenging, but I think much cleaner than a car clearly fitted with every after market part available. Those wheels really suit the darker car they're on. Plenty of time to keep looking. This thread is probably my best resource!

                    • My MK7 R

Hi, long time reader of this fine thread, first time poster. Some pics of my White R on VWR springs with Cadiz. Certainly the Cadiz look better lowered however do have plans to replace. I thought I new what I wanted until I started reading this thread, now I think I am in love with at least a dozen sets! I was thinking of VMR 810's in 19" of course, can't remember if they have been covered in the thread?

However that design is certainly the same in 18 inch versions for the S4, and combined with the fact this car was ex Germany where the guys tend not to cheap skate to reps I suspect that's what theyll be.
Thanks as always for the correction/clarification, dutch.

While many hours have been spent on this now long term project it still pales when compared over the years to playing fantasy sports.

Definitely hope the thread acts as a good resource.

Like you I tend to like wheels that have an OEM feel, although there are some damn nice wheels out there that don't.

Going black on black certainly makes a statement, best exponent of this I've seen on the Mk7 is Josh's R which wears OZ Ultraleggeras.

If you're after a high quality, low weight and reasonably priced mesh option I'd check out the Neuspeeds in RSe14 or RSe12 guise - they actually take the VW centre cap. The even cheaper and much easier to source option is the more familiar VMRs, probably the 718 if you want the extra spokes over the common 703s, or the newer 810 as below.

The VWRs do lower to a nice level - I did come close a few times to chucking them on my Mk7 and I also almost went for a set of 810s at one point as well.

There's a few cars running them in this thread, but from memory the closest match to what you want is as below albeit in GTI format and my preferred 18 inch format:

..or in your 19 inch size, but mixed with my CSG (aping the look I would have aimed for basically):

With white I'd seriously consider the gun metal finish.

ATS Racelights, likely 19 x 8.5 ET45 and around $3,200 locally. Although this bronze finish must be custom as both ATS and the local dealer only list silver as an option.

Fun fact: the F1 team of the same name circa critical 1977 to 84 was actually named after the wheel manufacturer that is still around today, based near Hockenheim. Thanks wiki.

                              • Hi Dutch - after spending the last 6 months staring at your thread and waiting for my car to arrive, it is finally here. Funny, it was only a week before it came that I decided on the wheels: Neuspeed RSe14, Gunmetal, 19x8, ET45...

                                Lots of hi-res pics [here].

                                Thanks for a great thread.
